The new Forrester TEI of Zip showcases the conversation procurement leaders should be having about orchestration investment; less about catching rogue spend, and more about the quality of influence Procurement is able to have against your spend base, and the corresponding impact that can have on your business. Here’s my writeup of key findings from the Forrester TEI if Zip. I’d love to hear what you think.

Last week, OpenAI and Zip welcomed a group of Bay Area procurement leaders to OpenAI HQ for a conversation about how AI is beginning to reshape procurement and business operations. Teams across OpenAI shared examples of how we're using ChatGPT, Codex, and AI-powered workflows in our day-to-day work, while attendees brought perspectives from their own organizations. Procurement gets better when practitioners learn from one another. I always leave conversations like this inspired by what other teams are solving for, testing, and building. I left with as many ideas as I shared. Throughout the evening, I found myself coming back to the same idea: the biggest opportunity isn't the technology itself. It's helping people spend less time navigating complexity and more time focused on the work that matters most. The conversation quickly moved beyond whether AI will have an impact and toward more practical questions: How do we create capacity for higher-value work? How do we improve decision quality, not just speed? How do we remove friction while maintaining trust, governance, and good judgment? Procurement professionals sit at a unique intersection of business strategy, technology, risk, finance, and operations. As AI reshapes how work gets done, procurement leaders are uniquely positioned to help organizations translate technology into business impact. One thing I continue to come back to: as an industry, we're still early. The organizations that benefit most may not be the ones with the most technology. They'll be the ones that cultivate ambitious learners, experiment thoughtfully, and create more space for people to focus on the work where human judgment, relationships, creativity, and context matter most. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to Zip for helping bring the community together. #Procurement #AI #BusinessTransformation #FutureOfWork

A great two days at ProcureCon Australia! Zip's Joe Bellofiore took the keynote stage with Julian Wood, IT Lead at SafetyCulture, for a wide-ranging talk on AI-enabled procurement in practice. Off-stage, we kept the room caffeinated as coffee cart sponsor—Zip cups spotted in every corner of the venue(!) We capped it off with a six-course Italian dinner at Pendolino with some of the sharpest procurement and finance leaders in APAC. Thanks to Worldwide Business Research (WBR) for hosting, and to everyone who came to talk shop. Find out where the Zip team is headed next: https://ziphq.com/events

A Forrester TEI study is a financial framework you can take directly to a CFO. https://lnkd.in/ecBHhxyM In 2026, Zip commissioned Forrester Consulting to interview procurement leaders at four enterprises with $10B to $45B in revenue, built a composite organization, modeled three years of cash flow, and applied risk adjustments to every benefit category. The result for Zip after those adjustments: 386% ROI and $6.9 million in new cost savings. These are pressure-tested numbers rigorously researched and ready for exec review. Procurement workloads are up nearly 10%, while headcount is shrinking for the first time in decades. "Doing more with less" has hit its limit. At DPW New York, Zip CEO Rujul Zaparde sits down with Bryan Miller, Chief Procurement Officer at Humana, to talk about what comes next: building an AI-enabled procurement operating model inside a highly regulated, risk-averse enterprise. How do you drive AI transformation without sacrificing trust, governance, or the workflows people depend on? Bryan has answers. See you next week at DPW. More info: https://nyc.dpw.ai/

Zip engineering internationalized the entire webapp using AI, codemods, and a multi-layer QA process. What might have in the past been a multi-team, multi-quarter effort shipped in just a few short months with two engineers who know how to use their tools inside and out. Zip engineers Trevor Weng and Leo Bookey share the full playbook, including the model that finally cracked the code, and the cases AI couldn't handle on its own. Read: https://lnkd.in/e-H5yVEN
