Transforming lives, one task at a time.

About us

Taskrabbit is a marketplace platform that conveniently connects people with Taskers to handle everyday home to-do’s, such as furniture assembly, handyman work, moving help, and much more. Acquired by IKEA Group - the world’s largest furniture retailer - in 2017 At Taskrabbit, we want to make your neighborhood a little more familiar. Whether it’s a handyman (or woman!), a housecleaner, moving help or delivery person, we’re imagining a world where everyone will have a go-to team to make everyday life easier. As a company we celebrate innovation, inclusion and hard work. As a pioneer of the sharing economy, Taskrabbit was founded on the premise of neighbors helping neighbors. Since then, our network has grown to eight countries and 75+ cities, yet our core mission of creating a better everyday life for everyday people has remained the same. Together with IKEA, we’re creating more opportunities for people to earn a consistent, meaningful income on their own terms by building lasting relationships with clients in communities around the world. We are a group of mission-minded people. Our culture is collaborative, pragmatic, and fast-paced. We’re looking for talented, entrepreneurially-minded and data-driven people who also have a passion for helping people do what they love - and have a ton of fun while they’re at it.

  • Moving just got much easier for Canadians with the launch of our Truck Assisted Moving category in over 90 cities across Canada! 🚚🇨🇦 We know that moving can be one of life’s most stressful moments. In fact, nearly 27% of Canadians who moved last year reported facing unexpected equipment fees. We’re changing that by offering a smooth, end-to-end relocation experience. From Vancouver to Halifax, we’re proud to help Canadians make their lives easier at home (and the journey getting there!). https://lnkd.in/gu3jquwB

  • How are Canadians designing spaces in 2026? Our latest trend report dives into the “five senses of home” by analyzing data from tasks booked through our platform. One of the biggest takeaways: Canadians are increasingly looking for ways to bring the “Great Outdoors” indoors. From nature-inspired design to more natural materials and greenery, we’re seeing a shift in how people are thinking about their living spaces. • Leadership is more than a title; it’s about the legacy you build. To kick off Women's History Month, we were thrilled to host our former CEO, Stacy Brown-Philpot, at our San Francisco office. As a company with a female founder and a rich history of women in leadership, hearing her perspective on the early days of Taskrabbit, and how we've grown as a company was the perfect motivation for the coming months. Thank you, Stacy, for sharing your time with us!

Winning Together.” This month's events included: -Virtual volunteering, creating Black history–focused educational materials in support of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) -Black Film Fest hosted at our San Francisco office -A visit to the Museum of the African Diaspora -Black History Month Trivia -A company-wide book club, reading "James" by Percival Everett Celebrating Black history isn't just for February; it's a year-round commitment to our community and culture, and we appreciate all the work the members of TR Noir put into creating programming and conversation throughout the year.

The hardest challenge People leaders have faced in years? Pivoting from all-remote back to the office. Taskrabbit has lived through both extremes: fully in-office and fully remote. They realized the goal isn't to pick a side, it's to merge the best of both: (1) meaningful in-person collaboration + (2) remote productivity. I recently sat down with Jenna Costa, VP of People at Taskrabbit, to break down how they built a hybrid model that actually sticks. Her biggest takeaway? Hybrid only works if you design for it. Jenna emphasized that the key isn’t "soft mandates": it’s density. They align around Tuesday/Wednesday "Hub Days" so people actually overlap. But to make those days worth the commute, they defined 3 principles: 1️⃣ Flexibility is foundational Returning to the office should never feel like losing autonomy. The office is a tool, not a trap. 2️⃣ Inclusivity is non-negotiable Remote employees must feel genuinely included. 👉They installed AV equipment in every single room, even small focus rooms and wellness spaces, so remote teammates are never second-class citizens. 3️⃣ Connection powers progress It’s the informal moments - like conversations around lunch tables - that drive creativity and trust. 👉They designed spaces specifically for connection (check out their "children-themed" room!) and added thoughtful touches like custom murals to make the HQ feel like "home," not a generic office. The result? The office isn't just a place to work; it’s a welcoming hub for locals and a destination for remote teams flying in. #PeopleOps #WorkplaceExperience #HybridWork #TaskRabbit #Codi

A new chapter for Taskrabbit in San Francisco 💚 I love offices that are designed with intention — not just to look good, but to actually support how people work. We partnered with the Taskrabbit team to set up this 10K+ sf office, using a playbook we’ve seen work again and again for hybrid teams. Plenty of ideas here to borrow for your own office! In TaskRabbit’s SF office tour, you’ll see: • Thoughtful welcome moments • Kitchens that actually work (yes - pantry, coffee, and water dispensers matter!) • Tech that removes friction (room booking, AV conferencing equipment that just works) • Wellness + care spaces that make long days in the office sustainable • Design choices that balance brand, privacy, and flexibility This isn’t about perks. It’s about creating a space people want to come into - especially in a hybrid world. Huge kudos to the TaskRabbit team for investing in their people and in San Francisco. Shoutout to Justin Liang, the force behind the scenes who brought this space to life. Thank you Kelli Mills, Jamie O'Malley & Jenna Costa for trusting Codi with this project - it is always a pleasure partnering with your team. 👇 Take the tour of the office we set up together.

At Taskrabbit, we’ve always been about transforming lives, one task at a time. Now, we’re continuing this mission with support from our friends at Amazon. Our CEO, Ania Smith, sat down for a fireside chat at the National Retail Federation conference to talk about our upcoming Spring 2026 launch with Alexa+ and AWS for Retail and Consumer Goods. This partnership is all about making life frictionless. By utilizing AI to ask the right scoping questions, we’re ensuring every task is accurately defined so Taskers can do what they do best. The future of home services is voice-activated, and we’re proud to be at the forefront.
