About us

The SQF (Safe Quality Food) Institute is a division of the FMI, the food industry association, established to administer the SQF Program, a leading, global food safety and quality certification and management system. The Program provides independent certification that a supplier's food safety and quality management system complies with international and domestic food safety regulations. This enables suppliers to assure their customers that food has been produced, processed, prepared and handled according to the highest possible standards, at all levels of the supply chain. • Heading to Global Pet Expo? 🐾 Meet up with Palova if you are interested in learning more about how the SQF Pet Food Code can reduce your production risks.

I’m pleased to share that I will be representing SQF Institute during the Global Pet Expo in Orlando on March 25–26. The pet food and animal feed sector continues to evolve, and strong food safety and quality systems are essential to help elevate the industry to the next level. The SQF Code is widely recognized for manufacturing, but it is also highly applicable to repacking, storage, and distribution operations across the pet food supply chain. If your company is: ✔ Already SQF certified and would like to connect, or ✔ Part of the pet food / animal feed sector and interested in learning how SQF certification can support your operations, I would be happy to meet during the Global Pet Expo. 📩 Feel free to send me a private message here on LinkedIn so we can schedule a short meeting during the event. 🌎 I’m available to connect in English, Spanish, or Portuguese. Looking forward to great conversations with professionals working to strengthen pet food safety and quality worldwide.

Developed by a diverse group of importers, exporters, traders, retailers, auditors, and food safety professionals, it has been designed for practical implementation while upholding the highest standards of integrity, helping to build confidence across the supply chain.   Retailer and wholesaler input is essential for this new Agents & Brokers Code. About last week! I was a first-time attendee at the SQF Conference in St. Louis, and it was such a valuable experience, from engaging learning sessions to insightful conversations—especially around the newly launched Edition 10. The cruise-themed evening was also a highlight for me, a great time to unwind and connect beyond the sessions. A time spent meeting inspiring professionals and building new connections within the food safety community! #SQFUnites2026 #FoodSafetyCommunity
