The story of Starship often focuses on Raptor 3, the Ship heatshield tiles or the insane views of Mechazilla catching the booster. However, there is also the story of what makes all those milestones possible: thousands of precision machined parts delivered, inspected, cleaned, finished and assembled on time with a feedback loop tight enough to learn fast when components fail or system requirements change. That’s what we’re building in Hawthorne, CA. The Starship Components Machining team is growing significantly over the next 18 months to close the loop between design, machining, assembly and test to move faster with every iteration. We are onboarding 1 kiloton of equipment to process 40,000 kilograms/week of material to feed Starship. These precision machined parts ultimately flow propellant to Raptor engines, control in-orbit vehicle attitude with gas thrusters, steer flap/fin surfaces in reentry and preserve propellant and pneumatic gas to extend mission duration. What you will own: - Machining critical Starship hardware including precision components used across regulators, solenoids, actuators and valves to +/- 5 micron precision from Inconel, Stainless and other superalloys - Programming and proving out complex multi-axis work with an emphasis on speed to first part, uptime, repeatability and continuous improvement - High-throughput inspection and metrology in the machine, on the floor, with CMM, and automation to ensure issues are found early and fixed permanently - Finishing and post-process that actually matters: deburr, threads, surface finish verification (profilometer), wash and citric passivation - Software that builds the machine. We are developing factory software systems that shrink the gap from CAD to part-in-hand by automating CAM program generation, shop scheduling, inspection reports and real-time production visibility Openings: - Assembly Machinist https://lnkd.in/g7_FRk4F - CNC Machinist https://lnkd.in/gqisfzR6 - CNC Programmer https://lnkd.in/gSwFqBuE - CMM Programmer https://lnkd.in/gXC9bbJJ - Precision Inspector https://lnkd.in/gi8E2spx - Manufacturing Engineer https://lnkd.in/gqvtGp6B - Sr. Manufacturing Engineer https://lnkd.in/gVJ5rwJF - Machining Supervisor https://lnkd.in/gcD4jr4N - Software Engineer https://lnkd.in/gvmc5VD9 - Automation and Controls Engineer https://lnkd.in/gpiSHVGH Why now: Starship is the path to a sustained human presence beyond Earth and extending the light of consciousness. The next phase to accomplish this are the teams who can build and deliver hardware at rate make these goals a reality. If you’re someone who takes real pride in building high-quality hardware and you want ownership, room to grow and to work in a high-performance environment, apply to the roles above or reach out directly to Michael S. or Ryan King.

About us
SpaceX designs, manufactures and launches the world’s most advanced rockets and spacecraft. The company was founded in 2002 by Elon Musk to revolutionize space transportation, with the ultimate goal of making life multiplanetary. SpaceX has gained worldwide attention for a series of historic milestones. It is the only private company ever to return a spacecraft from low-Earth orbit, which it first accomplished in December 2010. The company made history again in May 2012 when its Dragon spacecraft attached to the International Space Station, exchanged cargo payloads, and returned safely to Earth — a technically challenging feat previously accomplished only by governments. Since then Dragon has delivered cargo to and from the space station multiple times, providing regular cargo resupply missions for NASA. For more information, visit www.spacex.com.
