About us
The American Red Cross Southern California Region serves San Diego, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Imperial Counties. The Southern California Region exists to provide compassionate care to those in need. Our generous donors, volunteers and employees are part of a nationwide network committed to preventing and relieving suffering here at home, across the country and around the world. The Red Cross empowers ordinary people to perform extraordinary acts in emergency situations. We train. We mobilize. We connect donors and volunteers to those in urgent need of a helping hand. Whether it’s a wildfire or a home fire, a call for blood, or a call from a service member or military family in need, the Red Cross is there. We provide food and shelter in emergencies, assist members of our armed forces, veterans and their families, teach lifesaving skills to ensure our communities are prepared to respond to emergencies, and so much more. All Red Cross assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the public.

CPR isn’t just something you see in hospitals or on TV — you could need it at home to save someone you love. More than 300,000 people experience cardiac arrest outside of hospitals each year in the U.S. But only about 40% receive CPR from someone nearby before help arrives. When you take a CPR class, you’re protecting the people who matter most when every second counts. Learn more at redcross.org/TakeAClass.

Dr. Kelly Price Noble recently met with our San Diego and Imperial Counties Board to share powerful insights into the legacy of her grandfather, Dr. Charles Drew, the pioneering blood banking visionary who laid the foundation for modern blood collection and transfusion practices. Because of Dr. Drew’s groundbreaking research, countless people battling cancer, trauma injuries, and chronic diseases continue to receive lifesaving transfusions every day. Dr. Price Noble continues this legacy by supporting the health of our communities through regular blood drives, including a Sickle Cell Awareness Blood Drive scheduled for March 29. Learn more about how blood donations can help those battling sickle cell disease. https://lnkd.in/gFKPm3Pe
