The functionality I am about to describe in this article is quite a common requirement and request, especially on the Communication, employee-facing sites. The requirement is to display the contents of a folder on a SharePoint page. For example, you might have a Human Resources site that contains a document library with several folders. You might not want to display the entire library – just the content of one folder (i.e., Benefits) that would display various forms and policies related to Benefits. Sounds simple, right? Despite the supposedly simple nature of it, making it happen is not that obvious. As such, I have decided to explain this in the article: https://lnkd.in/gGT6ktUQ #SharePoint #Microsoft365

Microsoft Loop has quickly become one of the most useful collaboration tools inside Microsoft 365, especially for teams working across projects, meetings, and shared workflows. Boy, have the times changed. Custom lists have transformed so much in the last 10 years that they are barely recognizable. Back in the classic days of SharePoint, we just had a few list types we could create, like a contact list, a task list, and a custom list. The creation experience and the look and feel of them left a lot to be desired… Lists were completely revamped back in 2021, and with the recent changes and new features, they are now more user-friendly. One of the capabilities that changed tremendously was the ability to create a list. In the past, we had only one way to do so – build it from scratch. If you wanted to import it from Excel, it was such a painful experience that it made many people cry (just for the record, I’m not the crying type – my coping mechanism involves large amounts of alcohol instead) 😊 As I write this post, we now have 9 (nine!) ways to create a custom list. Let me document them all in this article: https://lnkd.in/gqBMhEfD #SharePoint #Microsoft365

Just a reminder that I created LookBook365.com as a place to showcase real SharePoint designs, intranet examples, and workplace solutions for different industries and business needs. I wanted a space where you could see what SharePoint can actually look like beyond the standard out of the box experience, from knowledge bases and employee hubs to client focused intranets like this Wealth Management example. If you are looking for ideas, inspiration, or practical SharePoint solutions, see more at www.LookBook365.com. #SharePoint #LookBook365

Most people think of SharePoint Lists as something you build manually from scratch, but Microsoft has a much faster option that many users still overlook. You can create a new SharePoint List directly from a Form, making it easier to collect information and automatically structure it into a usable list at the same time. While SharePoint still gives you options like importing from Excel, copying existing lists, or building one manually, creating a list from a Form is quickly becoming one of the simplest and most practical approaches for everyday business use. Here’s how it works: https://lnkd.in/gNaWux-T #SharePoint #Microsoft365

If you watch videos on my YouTube channel, it is quite possible that you utilized the Timestamp functionality – the ability to jump to a certain part of the video quickly. We have the same functionality in Stream, which is called Chapters. In this article, I would like to explain how to set it up: https://lnkd.in/gQWSeM_N #SharePoint #Microsoft365

I've seen a lot of SharePoint implementations over the years. Some worked beautifully. 😍 Some… not so much. 😵💫 Most problems do not come from SharePoint itself. They come from decisions made during setup, structure, permissions, governance, and user adoption. In this reel, I share a few things you should avoid doing during a SharePoint implementation so you do not create bigger problems later. Sometimes knowing what NOT to do is just as important as knowing what to do. #SharePoint #Microsoft365

Oversharing in SharePoint has always been a hot topic of debate and frustration for IT teams, Security, and Compliance managers. While certain capabilities to minimize overshairng do exist, they often rely on the Site Owners themselves. Other options rely on Sensitivity labels, which require a bit of setup and know-how of Microsoft Purview (not ot mention extra licenses). However, we now have a new feature in the SharePoint Admin Center that allows the IT team to prevent and mitigate oversharing with a single click. Let me explain: https://lnkd.in/g4-_Egrg #SharePoint #Microsoft365

Gallery view in Microsoft Lists is one of my favorite views, especially if it contains an image; it allows for a visually appealing presentation of a list. A use case could be a list of locations with images or an employee directory with photos. While you can first create a list (grid) and then a Gallery view off it, you can also create a Gallery View from scratch as well. Let me show you how: https://lnkd.in/gjkvR3EZ #SharePoint #Microsoft365
