We are deeply grateful to the Holocaust Center for Humanity for partnering with us on a powerful event in observance of Holocaust Remembrance Day during Here There Are Blueberries last Sunday evening. From the thoughtful lobby materials that engaged audiences before the performance, to a moving post-show conversation with speaker Carl Roer, who spoke about his late father, a Holocaust survivor, this collaboration created space for remembrance, learning, and reflection. Thank you to the Holocaust Center for Humanity for your partnership, and to everyone who joined us for this meaningful day and special Pay What You Choose performance. We are honored to share this deeply important and timely story with our community. You can learn more about this organization and their vital work here. - -> https://lnkd.in/gkRyddAK

Seattle Rep’s Winky Hussey Professional Arts Training Program (WHPATP) was recently featured in The Seattle Times—spotlighting a major milestone for our organization. After more than 40 years of training the next generation of theater artists and leaders, WHPATP has officially earned approval from the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council, making Seattle Rep the first professional theater company and arts organization in the state to receive this recognition. This approval affirms that WHPATP meets rigorous state standards for both education and on-the-job training, and underscores how rare truly paid apprenticeships with benefits (including PTO and sick time) are in the arts sector. As Rachel McAloon of the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries shared, this recognition “lifts [the program] to that next level,” ensuring apprentices gain the knowledge and experience needed to thrive as professionals in the theater arts industry. Read the full article below and learn more about WHPATP—paid apprenticeship applications are now open through February 28. - -> https://lnkd.in/gMCfrQBZ

The work of audience growth often begins after the first visit. For Seattle Rep, that meant rethinking the patron experience. Not to sell more, but to connect better. A dedicated Patron Relations team replaced a traditional box office model, with one clear aim: make first-time attendees feel known, and wanted, right away. That showed up in simple, intentional follow-up: 📝 Handwritten welcome cards waiting at seats, with a reason to return 📞 Listening-first phone calls within days of attendance ❤️ Thoughtful thank-you emails and a short survey. No hard sell The impact was measurable: ✅ 1,270 new multi-buyers with no prior season history ✅ $17,027 in return revenue from first-time follow-up ✅ Lower new-to-file share, but driven by stronger repeat behavior This wasn't just a short-term tactic for Seattle Rep, but a deliberate decision to embed retention discipline into their organizational culture.

Seattle Rep: Turning Data into Loyalty Before launching their new strategic plan, Seattle Rep wanted to better understand why some audiences weren’t returning — and how to build deeper, lasting relationships. They had already noticed churn among single-ticket buyers and commissioned a third-party survey to learn more about audiences who hadn’t attended in recent seasons. But they needed a clearer picture of their current patrons — from subscribers to first timers — and how values aligned with buying behavior. That’s where ABA stepped in. By analyzing ten years of audience data and redesigning surveys ABA built five detailed audience personas that revealed what motivated each group to attend — and what kept them coming back. Armed with these insights, Seattle Rep refined its marketing, communications and patron services strategy. ● Personalized communications for each segment ● New welcome touches in the lobby and subscriber concierge program ● Invitations and offers designed to encourage second visits and long-term loyalty The result? Seattle Rep is now seeing audiences return faster — and single-ticket buyers converting into repeat visitors within the same season. Incremental, measurable shifts are building a stronger, more connected audience base. ABA’s role: Transforming raw data into actionable insight — and insight into loyalty. #MemberMondays #MemberValue #ArtsandCulture #PerformingArts

We’re thrilled to announce that Seattle Rep and Seattle Children's Theatre have been awarded a significant new grant from Allen Family Philanthropies! This support will fuel the next phase of our growing collaboration, including a new yearly co-production model creating bold, relevant work for teen audiences. As Seattle Rep Managing Director Jeffrey Herrmann shares: “This incredible gift from the Allen Family Philanthropies to Seattle Rep and our partners at Seattle Children’s Theatre will enable both organizations to work closely together to program for a teenage audience that neither of us could effectively or authentically serve on our own. This will contribute greatly to the vitality, health, and character of the Seattle Center campus we call home and will allow Seattle Rep and SCT to continue and deepen our successful, preexisting partnerships. We are excited and humbled by this gift and can’t wait to get started.” Thank you to Allen Family Philanthropies for making this work possible.
