A heartfelt thank you to our friends at SMUD for volunteering with us and continuing to show up for the women and children of Saint John’s Program for Real Change. We deeply appreciate SMUD’s ongoing commitment to our mission and their belief in creating a safe, supportive space where women and children can heal, grow, and build brighter futures. A special thank you to Michelle Kirby, who serves on Saint John’s Board of Directors, for her continued leadership, care, and dedication to our work. So grateful for community partners like Goodwill Industries of Sacramento Valley & Northern Nevada, Inc., who show up with practical tools, encouragement, and real pathways to opportunity for the women of Saint John’s Program for Real Change. Workforce readiness is such an important part of long-term stability, and partnerships like this help our clients continue building confidence, skills, and momentum as they work toward their goals. Thank you to the Goodwill Sacramento team for sharing your time, expertise, and heart with the women we serve. We are grateful to be in this work alongside you.

Saint John’s Square is our Transitional Housing Program that provides housing for up to 12 months with units that come fully furnished, WiFi, utilities and appliances. This is a critical step for families moving from episode(s) of homelessness to stable, permanent housing. Though the Square we serve up 22 families at any given time, and work with them to chart a new path in Sacramento. Today, we welcomed our partners from SMUD who are volunteering to prepare one of these homes for a new family. SMUD is an invaluable partner for Saint John's Program for Real Change and ensuring we maintain a safe space - and a clean, well maintained, and excellent space for our families!

Yesterday, our community showed up in an incredible way. Thanks to your generosity, Saint John’s Program for Real Change not only met our Big Day of Giving goal, we exceeded it! We are truly grateful for every donor, partner, friend, and supporter who gave, shared, encouraged, and helped make this day such a success. Your support means more than a number. It means women and children in crisis have a safe place to heal, rebuild, and gain the tools necessary to transform their lives. From all of us at Saint John’s: thank you. Tomorrow is Sacramento’s Big Day of Giving! At Saint John’s Program for Real Change, more than 30% of the clients we serve are children. Many have experienced the heavy impacts of homelessness, poverty, abuse, and instability at a very young age. That is why our work is not just about helping mothers. It is about helping entire families heal. On our campus, children have access to safe onsite childcare, therapy, child case management, and family-centered support. Mothers receive the tools they need to rebuild their lives, strengthen their families, reunify with their children, and create a more stable future. A huge THANK YOU to all the incredible volunteers who joined us on campus this April! As we celebrated Global Volunteer Month, more than 500 volunteers came together to contribute over 1,300 hours of service, making a meaningful impact across our community. In addition to our amazing daily volunteers, we’re especially grateful for the corporate groups who showed up in a big way: Amazon, Enterprise, Columbia Bank, Aramark, Windermere Real Estate, In-N-Out Burger, and Liberty Mutual. Your support helped bring numerous campus projects to life! Thank you for being such an important part of our volunteer family. We couldn’t do this without you!

Behind every successful event, you will likely find an army of volunteers who get the job done.
