Have you ever felt the pull toward work that's more socially impactful? Marc Rettig did. After decades in corporate design, he followed that pull into something entirely different — long-term co-creation with communities, working to shift deeply ingrained social patterns. In this free Rosenverse live session, he traces that journey for anyone feeling the same pull and looking for guidance on possible first steps. 🎟️ Sign up for free: https://lnkd.in/eBA6WetU #UXDesign #Design #SocialImpact

What happens when AI stops being a tool and starts being a colleague? That shift is already underway, and designers are figuring out how to work with it in real time. Join Christian Crumlish, Erika Flowers, Ben Jackson, and Adekunle Oduye at #DwAI2026 as they explore how designers are inventing new ways of working with AI agents, from AI chiefs of staff to full production crews. Together they'll speculate on what the agent shift signals for designers today, and how we can prepare for what comes next. Be part of the conversation June 9-10. 🎟️ Get your tickets: https://lnkd.in/eNXKtj7S 📋 View the full program: https://lnkd.in/ejG6KQwh #AIconference #artificialintelligence #UX #genAI

Last week I was lucky enough to find myself in Paris speaking on a monumental issue: The ongoing erosion of our privacy online and what we as UX designers can do about it. I’m tremendously grateful to FLUPA UX Days for their invitation. to attend their conference, where I met someone wonderful, whipsmart people in the French-speaking UX community, who were kind enough to welcome me to their event, despite my lack of any observable skill in speaking their language. While there, I also was fortunate to exit the Metro at just the right moment to witness … Triomphenge? Thanks to all who attended my presentation and for the kind feedback, too. If you’d like to learn more about online privacy and both advocating and designing for it, I’d heartily recommend picking up a copy of my book. And I hope to return to Paris soon! 🇫🇷 📕 You can purchase my book directly from Rosenfeld Media or other online booksellers. https://lnkd.in/eVEp8Eh5

I'm giving a short talk at Rosenfeld Designing with AI about the fundamental skills and capabilities that let you measure your own progress, regardless of what tools changed beneath you. Most teams are using AI to work faster. Josh Clark and Veronika Kindred think that's the wrong starting point. Lou sits down with the authors of Sentient Design to explore what it really means to treat AI as a design material, not just a productivity tool. Their framework? Start with bold, even impossible wishes, then work backward to create real, deliverable experiences. Listen to learn: ✦ How "practical magic" unlocks what's really possible ✦ How the sentient design sprint works in practice ✦ What truly intelligent interfaces could look like ✦ What designers need to unlearn to work effectively with AI If you enjoyed this conversation, join Josh and Veronika at the Designing with AI conference on June 9, where they'll go deeper into the ideas behind Sentient Design. 🎧 Listen now: https://lnkd.in/ekr_6CuA 🎟️ Sign up free for their session: https://lnkd.in/eYypEEZ6 #AI #UXDesign #DWAI2026 #SentientDesign

Interviewing is easy, right? Anyone can do it… but few do it well enough to unlock the benefits and insights that interviewing users and customers can yield. In this new and updated edition of the acclaimed classic Interviewing Users, Steve Portigal quickly and effectively dispels the myth that interviewing is trivial. He shows how research studies and logistics can be used to determine concrete goals for a business and takes the reader on a detailed journey into the specifics of interviewing techniques, best practices, fieldwork, documentation, and how to make sense of uncovered data. This edition features... - 2 new chapters: one about analysis and synthesis and sharing research results, and another about ensuring that your user research efforts will have an impact on your organization - 7 new short essays (we call them sidebars) from guest contributors - updated examples, stories, and tips for leading interviews - new sections about bias, remote research, ResearchOps, planning research, and research logistics Refresh your interviewing practices and get your copy today! https://lnkd.in/eMCPFVJc
