Most high-power RF systems treat their combining networks as passive plumbing — signals go in, combined power comes out, and that's it. But what if the combiner itself could switch, stabilize, and protect? Our CTO, Mark Robertson, just published a new article showing how fast phase control transforms a conventional hybrid combiner into an adaptive power management tool. The Combining and Power Stability Breakthrough! Combining is the next step forward—and it lives or dies on frequency + phase control. For some applications, power stability is crucial. Narya-I efficiently combines two 100 kW L-Band magnetrons using off-the-shelf waveguide/transmitter components, with at least 99% combining efficiency. Narya-Is reduces power ripple on a standard magnetron transmitter from over 13kW down to 2kW. In this paper, authored by RT’s Chief Technology Officer Mark Robertson, he shows this directly with spectrum video comparisons.
