How does obstructive sleep apnea affect heart health? This #WorldHeartDay, we’re looking at what happens to your heart after the lights go out 🌚 For people with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), repeated pauses in breathing can disrupt sleep and place additional stress on the cardiovascular system. As oxygen levels fall, heart rate and blood pressure can rise throughout the night. OSA is also associated with conditions including hypertension, arrhythmias, heart failure and stroke. What happens while we sleep is an important part of the bigger heart health picture. See why the overnight hours matter for both sleep and heart health ❤️ #SleepApnea #HeartHealth #SleepHealth #CardiovascularHealth #OSA

Turning invisible progress into tangible information. Connected care is expanding to oral appliance therapy with myNarval, the companion app dedicated to patients treated with a Narval™ CC oral appliance. Because a patient’s treatment journey continues between appointments, myNarval provides accessible tools designed to help patients follow their sleep and stay engaged. Patients can view key physiological markers, compare nights with and without Narval CC, receive personalized support and generate a summary report to easily share their data with their healthcare professionals. For healthcare professionals, this shared information can complement clinical evaluation and support more informed discussions during follow-up visits - helping enhance consultations and support continuity of care between appointments. With myNarval, Resmed is bringing the benefits of connected care to oral appliance therapy. Discover myNarval. https://lnkd.in/eyntwjSE Only available in France, Germany, and the Netherlands.

What if the signs of sleep apnea in women aren’t the ones you’ve been taught to look for? 🛌👩 While loud snoring is one of the most recognized signs of sleep apnea, women may also experience symptoms like fatigue, insomnia, brain fog and mood changes. Traditional approaches to recognizing sleep apnea have often centered on symptom patterns more commonly reported in men, which can contribute to OSA being overlooked or underdiagnosed in women. Recognizing how sleep apnea can present differently is an important step toward helping more women understand their sleep health and identify potential concerns earlier. Take the Women’s Sleep Assessment to learn more about your sleep health: https://lnkd.in/eTfPm3Ui #WomensHealth #SleepHealth #SleepApnea #OSA #WomensSleep #Resmed

Lernen Sie unser Team kennen: Kai PIETRON, Samira Uster, Lucas Jöslin, Conor Robinson, Jürgen Schäfer Uns interessiert: Wie verändert digitale Unterstützung die respiratorische Versorgung in Ihrem klinischen Alltag? #Resmed #NIV #Telemonitoring #DigitalHealth #RespiratoryCare

Creating life-changing health technologies people love starts with a clear purpose: helping people reach their full potential through better sleep and breathing. At this year’s AdvaMed MedTech Showcase in Washington, D.C., we brought that purpose to life for federal policymakers, sharing innovations that support people across their health journey. From AirSense 11 and the AirFit F30i mask to the NightOwl home sleep apnea test and Nidra, an innovative therapy for Restless Legs Syndrome from Noctrix Health, Inc., recently acquired by Resmed, our portfolio reflects what’s possible when we keep people at the center of innovation. But technology alone can’t shape the future of healthcare. Meaningful impact also depends on a policy environment that supports innovation and helps people access the care and technologies they need. That’s why we continue to collaborate with policymakers, industry leaders, providers, patient advocates, and other healthcare stakeholders. Thank you to everyone who joined us in Washington and shares our commitment to turning innovation into meaningful impact. The future of sleep and breathing health is something we’re shaping together. #MedTech #HealthInnovation #SleepHealth #PatientCenteredCare #HealthcareInnovation #AdvaMed #Resmed

Before his sleep apnea diagnosis, getting out of bed was a daily struggle for Tyler Reddick, 23XI Racing NASCAR driver. His wife, Alexa, remembers those days all too well. She and Tyler share what changed, not only for Tyler, but their whole family after he started CPAP therapy. Sleep apnea doesn't just affect the person who has it. It can affect the people around them, too. Never underestimate a sleeper.

What happens when you design a battery-powered CPAP device from the ground up? That's the question our engineers Ellis Tsekouras, Tim Shadie, and Cem Tarakci brought to the Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE Europe) in Valencia, Spain. Their answer is a new algorithm that tracks a patient's breathing patterns during therapy, optimizing energy consumption in real time rather than assuming a constant power draw. On an AirSense 11, testing showed a reduction in power consumption of up to 20%. That's not a marginal tweak. It's an efficiency gain that changes what's possible in a battery-powered device. Looking ahead, this patented technology has the potential to deliver the smallest and lightest battery-powered CPAP devices we've built for our patients. Less power means a smaller battery, and a smaller battery means more freedom to sleep anywhere. #CPAP #SleepApnea #Engineering #EnergyEfficiency #DigitalHealth #MedicalDevices #Resmed

Trust in CPAP is built through decades of innovation, evidence and experience. But it can also be strengthened by seeing someone else confidently make therapy part of their life 💜 That’s what makes the stories from the CPAP Baddies #community so powerful. People are speaking openly about seeking treatment, overcoming stigma, and making CPAP their own. At Resmed, we believe open conversations like these can help people with sleep apnea feel more supported and confident in their therapy and in their journey toward better sleep and breathing. The more openly we talk about living with CPAP, the more we can move the conversation from stigma toward understanding and confidence. Read the stories changing perceptions of CPAP in the New York Post: https://lnkd.in/g2AYWbuK 👋 Lindsay McFarland and John Barger #CPAP #SleepApnea #SleepHealth #CPAPBaddies #PatientStories #Resmed
