In 2023, the State of Ohio allocated $25 million to Habitat affiliates across Ohio to support new homeownership opportunities, critical home repairs, and construction workforce development initiatives. We’re ecstatic that affiliates across the state worked together to spend all $25 million (and then some) to support over 300 new homeownership opportunities and over 1,000 home repairs. This video highlights the collaboration between Habitat and the Ohio Department of Development to make a difference in the lives of thousands of Ohioans. With Habitat’s unique model and network, we’re able to collaborate to impact both urban and rural communities, as well as new and long-time homeowners. Thanks so much to our partners at the State for their support, and we look forward to continuing to work together to combat our housing crisis!

Heading out for #MemorialDay weekend? 😃 As you travel across Ohio, keep this fun fact in mind. Many vending machines and food service locations at Ohio highway rest areas are operated by small business owners who are legally blind through OOD's Business Enterprise (BE) program! BE operators help keep travelers fueled while building successful entrepreneurial careers. And if you stop by the Marion rest area, check out the beautiful revamped space completed last year in partnership with the Ohio Department of Transportation, Ohio Department of Development, and Governor Mike DeWine! May is also #MobilityAwarenessMonth—a reminder of how accessible transportation, travel, and public spaces help connect people to work, family, recreation, and opportunity. Safe travels, Ohio! 🚗
