As Foster Care Awareness Month comes to a close, we pause to recognize and express our deepest sentiments to everyone who makes a difference in the lives of youth and families every day. Thank you to our dedicated employees whose commitment, compassion, and expertise help create stability and hope. Thank you to foster parents who open their hearts and homes with extraordinary care and resilience. We are equally grateful to kinship and relative caregivers who step forward to keep families connected and rooted in love. And to our community partners, your collaboration strengthens the entire system of support and impacts lives. Because of you, youth experience safety, belonging, and the opportunity to thrive. Your impact reaches far beyond today and continues to shape brighter futures. Although the month is ending, the mission continues. We are proud to stand alongside you every day.

This past weekend, we honored and remembered the brave individuals who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is profound, and we held space for the families, friends, and communities who carry that loss each and every day. At NYAP, we recognize that service does not end when the uniform comes off. Many veterans and their families continue to navigate the invisible impacts of service, including mental health challenges, trauma, and the complex transition back to civilian life. Supporting their well-being is an essential part of honoring their commitment and their sacrifice. As we reflect, we encourage our community to listen, learn, and deepen understanding of the mental health experiences of those who have served. This time can be especially difficult. While many spent the weekend gathering and remembering, others may be carrying profound grief, anxiety, or isolation. Full Article: https://lnkd.in/gYwCTxvT For more than 30 years, one couple opened their home again and again to children who needed safety, stability, and love. Their story is a powerful reminder that fostering isn’t about perfection. It’s about showing up. Creating space. Helping a child feel safe enough to trust again. This Foster Care Awareness Month, we honor families like these and the everyday impact they make. Because sometimes the smallest moments, a laugh, a hug, a sense of belonging, can change everything. National Youth Advocate Program, Inc. is proud to partner with Cultivate Food Rescue in South Bend, Indiana to expand access to nutritious meals for children and youth involved in foster, kinship, and relative care. Through this collaboration, families can receive high quality, ready to eat meals, helping ease financial pressure on caregivers while supporting stability and well being for young people during critical transitions. This initiative not only nourishes families but also strengthens connections to culture, community, and support systems, helping reduce the trauma of separation and promote successful reunification. Meals will also support foster families as they welcome new youth and will be integrated into NYAP’s broader prevention and family support programs.
