I have some very sad news to share with the personal finance education community. Joey Running passed away over the weekend after a short illness. For those who knew her, Joey was an incredible teacher, passionate advocate and always willing to lend a hand as an Ambassador or on FinLit Fanatics or to take a call to help a new teacher. Next Gen Personal Finance Fellow, Distinguished Educator, Ambassador doesn't quite capture what she meant to the community. She did so much in Oregon to get a law passed to guarantee a personal finance course and was still fighting to ensure implementation was done well. Her influence will continue to be felt in classrooms across the country through the students she reached, the teachers she supported, and the progress she helped create in her home state.
