In Bhutan’s Himalayan terrain, connectivity can vanish without warning. Our team went on-site with DHI to explore how blockchain should behave in places where the network simply isn’t there. We tested a model where devices sign data offline, that data is physically transported across difficult terrain, and Sui verifies it once a connection returns. For regions building digital systems in agriculture, resources, or environmental management, this approach shows how trustworthy records can exist even without reliable signal. After spending the last three quarters at Mysten Labs, working closely with the Sui Foundation and Walrus Foundation ecosystems, and exploring the broader world of decentralized infrastructure, I’ve realized that a lot of meaningful progress in Web3 goes unnoticed, especially on LinkedIn (at least what I notice or not in my network). So I’ll be sharing a few articles over time, to explain how this technology / parallel economy is evolving, why it’s relevant beyond finance, and where genuine opportunities exist for builders and other professionals curious about the next wave of the internet.
