Since 1980, the Mid-Ohio Food Collective has strived to make nutritious food accessible to those in our communities experiencing food insecurity, distributing millions of pounds of food per year — over half of which is fresh — to 20 counties across central and eastern Ohio.
VISION
A hunger-free and healthier community.
MISSION
To end hunger one nourishing meal at a time while co-creating communities where everyone thrives.
When Mid-Ohio Food Collective opens its Eastland Prosperity Center in the fall, it will be a fitting capstone to the career of Matt Habash, who recently announced his retirement from the food bank after 42 years. https://lnkd.in/e_j6KuCM
Last week, Mid-Ohio Food Collective team members welcomed Tatianna Villa, Regional Director for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and Andrew Coffield, Regional Advocate for the U.S. Small Business Administration, along with representatives from the Ohio Association of Foodbanks, for a discussion and tour of the Mid-Ohio Foodbank, Mid-Ohio Farm on the Hilltop, and Mid-Ohio Market at Norton Road.
The visit provided an opportunity for federal leaders to learn more about MOFC's innovative, community-centered approach to addressing food insecurity across our communities. Thank you to Tatianna and Andrew for taking the time to visit and learn more about the work happening across Mid-Ohio Food Collective and the impact we’re making together. 🤝

Join us on May 1 and step into the future of food at the Mid-Ohio Food Collective Farm on the Hilltop! This interactive experience goes beyond a typical tour—walk the greenhouse alongside industry innovators, get your hands involved with next-gen growing methods, and taste fresh, greenhouse-grown produce right where it’s harvested.
You’ll dive into how STEAM is transforming the way we grow and think about food, all while connecting with others who are just as curious (and hungry) for what’s next. Come ready to explore, ask questions, and be part of the conversation shaping the future of food in our community.

Dalanda Kounta, a construction apprentice and student at Eastland-Fairfield Career and Technical Schools, is helping build Mid-Ohio Food Collective’s Eastland Prosperity Center—right in the community she calls home.
After graduating this spring, she’ll step into a full-time role with Elford, Inc., the lead construction partner helping bring the project to life.
Her story is just one example of the impact already taking shape. Read more about Dalanda and the difference she’s making in her community. 👇
