At Children’s Hunger Alliance, we believe every child should have nutritious food to eat every day of the week, all year long. The goal of CHA is to increase children’s food security and nutrition education, and we’ve been leading the charge to break the cycle of childhood hunger in Ohio since 1970. As the largest comprehensive statewide organization focused solely on children’s food security and nutrition education, CHA plays a unique role. We adapt to need by getting nutritious food to kids wherever they are: in-home childcare, childcare centers, schools, afterschool programs, over weekends, and during the summer. With over 1,800 partner sites across 76 counties, we provide direct service, capacity-building, and education — all aimed at nourishing children’s futures. Together, we can end childhood hunger in Ohio.

Columbus Metropolitan Library is proud to once again partner with Children's Hunger Alliance to provide children 18 and younger with free meals this summer at 19 library locations. Together, we'll serve more than 100,000 Summer Meals and After-School snacks at CML locations each year. At our recent all-staff retreat, CHA team members prepared delicious Mediterranean-inspired recipes to foster communication, build bonds, and test CHA's Nutrition Education working curriculum. We enjoyed making: 🥗 Greek salad 🫒 Honey whipped goat cheese and olives 🍫 Chocolate Hummus 🥜 Snickers dates It's always a great day when we can bring the statewide team together! ❤️
We are blown away by the support CHA received at Side by Side 2026 last Thursday in Cleveland! 🧡 Nearly $43,000 was raised by generous donors in the room — every dollar of which goes to providing nutritious meals and food education to Ohio's children right where they are, every day of the year. And if that wasn't enough, Cleveland Clinic announced a $1.25 million grant that expands its partnership with CHA to provide more weekend meals, fresh produce, hot dinners, and critical Nutrition Education programming to kids in eight NE Ohio counties. Truly amazing! With State Sen. Kent Smith as our esteemed emcee, Side by Side guests were treated to an inspiring program, delicious food and drinks, a silent auction and bourbon pull, and live music from a jazz quartet made up of students from Baldwin Wallace University. It was a fun and meaningful night of partnership, and we’re grateful to all the “Hunger Heroes” and event sponsors who showed up to support CHA's mission.
