Mindsmith reposted this
𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 #𝟭: 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 Just six months ago, a few of us started vibe‑coding with platforms such as #Google AI Studio, Lovable and v0 by Vercel. Building on our 𝗟𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗔𝗜 𝘅 𝗕𝗨𝗦 experience, our conversations grew into shared experiments and ideas.💡 I’m grateful for the opportunity to co‑facilitate alongside my colleague, William Chung , with Chang Hui Koh as the main facilitator during the Creator Space workshop on 13 May 2026. William inspired us with his gamification app for classroom learning, while Chang Hui shared his vibe-coding projects and inspiring stories about the importance of making time for creativity and deepening human connections. In my earlier posts, one of my students has shared about myths related to AI: “𝘈𝘐 𝘪𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘴. 𝘑𝘰𝘣𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘣𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦.” AI is about #augmenting our skills and connecting people in communities. One of the key takeaways from this workshop is that AI #empowers us to extend our skills, spark #creativity, and bring people together. What struck me most during the workshop was the #community spirit: A few colleagues shared practical tips with Mindsmith and I get to help another colleague with PowerAutomate, while exchanging ideas that blended technology with human creativity. This event is not the end. It’s the beginning of our journey to co‑create together. Thanks, Pek Seah Lim and Chang Hui for coordination and planning of this Creator Space workshop. Excited to see how this space will continue to #grow, spark #imagination, and strengthen connections in Temasek Polytechnic | School of Business .💛

Congratulations to Muhammad Abid, winner of the Mindsmith x Heidi Kirby, PhD Design Challenge. His scenario, The Craft of Hard Conversations: The 5:45 Conversation, nailed the brief — a back-office schedule with real character names, an AI conversation Marcus had to earn, and a debrief that landed on Kindred's values. The other designers shipped real work on a tight clock, and each one deserves their name called: Preethi Shankar — illustrated characters, branched scenario, and an AI roleplay that drops the safety net. Christina Mead — "Not a policy. A conversation." Lydia Assam— Marcus and Jamie at the table in Kindred aprons, with a mnemonic that fit the brand. Lisa Hascal — prose that sounded like a real Kindred shift. Andrea Bindreiter — caught the Sellwood detail and set the mood the brief asked for. Jamie Banks — pushed scenario design with video hooks, P.O.U.R.S., and a live AI conversation. Rachel Bearden, M.Ed. — her "Listening Gap" moment is one we'll be borrowing. Kim Cyrell Cruz, ECE, ECT — twelve clean pages, a custom-illustrated Jamie, no "correct/incorrect" framing. Divya Grace Benjamin — three branch points and the brief's typography spec dialed in. Marko Scantlebury, MSc IDT — kept scope narrow and called out accessibility choices most missed. Andrea Campos Leon — stepped up as a first-generation student and shipped. That takes nerve. Everyone who entered gets a free month of Mindsmith Business — use code DRHEIDI. Thank you to Heidi Kirby, PhD for the brief, the judging eye, and the community. #MindsmithDesignChallenge #InstructionalDesign https://lnkd.in/gnQNAxrw https://lnkd.in/gdqfNa9d

Come hang out with us and Tim Slade!
Okay. So yesterday I hinted that I had some big news to share about ATD ICE next week…so here it is... I’m officially heading to ATD International Conference & Exposition in Los Angeles, where I’ll be partnering with Mindsmith, the first AI-native eLearning authoring tool! 🎉 And apparently, instead of giving away stress balls, breath mints, and tote bags people immediately regret carrying around all day…we collectively decided the better strategy was to give away FOUR HUNDRED signed hardcover copies of my new book, The Instructional Design Handbook. 📕 It's like Oprah giving away free cars...but instead of Oprah and free cars...it's me and my book. It's pretty much the same thing. So, I’ll be hanging out at the Mindsmith booth (# 1116) throughout the conference, talking instructional design, AI, eLearning development, the future of authoring tools, and how I think AI actually fits into real instructional design workflows. Honestly, I feel like there’s a very real possibility this becomes the most chaotic booth on the expo floor. At least that's what I'm hoping for! So if you’re attending ATD ICE next week, come find me at Booth # 1116, claim your free signed copy before they disappear, and let’s collectively turn an L&D conference into an Oprah episode where you get a book, and you get a book, and YOU get a book. What are you most excited about for the conference? Let me know down in the comments! Seriously cannot wait to see everyone there! —Tim #InstructionalDesign #eLearning #LearningAndDevelopment #ATDICE #ATD #Mindsmith
