Midlife appetite changes have a physiological explanation. “As estrogen levels go down, that food suppressant feeling becomes less…resulting in higher hunger,” explains Midi Health Chief Medical Officer, Kathleen Jordan, MD, in SELF Magazine by Caroline Tien. She also notes shifts in key hunger hormones like ghrelin and leptin that can make women feel hungrier and less full. Read more in SELF ↓ https://lnkd.in/gExgV_62

Midi puts a lot of effort into connecting with women where they are. (If you're in our demo and on Instagram or TikTok, we've definitely met.) We don’t just talk about who we are; we dive deep into the menopause experience—the 😵💫, the 🤣, and everything in between. Authenticity and relatability are essential to engaging women in midlife for many reasons, not the least of which includes the impact of the past. Gaps in knowledge and care have left many women unaware that their symptoms can be treated, dubious about whether they can find a clinician who gets (or even believes) what they are experiencing, and hesitant to even try. We know it. We've felt it. We work hard to communicate about those lived experiences and share that women CAN feel like themselves again. Midi President and Co-Founder Sharon Meers spoke about this at yesterday's #HERSummit. She noted that beyond our direct impact on women in need of menopause care, employers, payers, and health systems also benefit from the awareness- and engagement-building effects of our DTC efforts. In fact, by the time they partner with us, many of their members are already Midi patients or are interested in becoming one. ✅

Midi Health reposted this
Midi Health is real care. With real expert clinicians. I have had the opportunity to travel around the country and learn from our NPs and I am blown away by their dedication and knowledge. I love learning from them and hearing what our patients are asking - their dedication to providing the best care is truly inspiring. It's also interesting learning about the cultural differences - the patient questions in San Diego are different than those in North Carolina - more on that soon. But every woman is looking for great care and thats universal. Photo from the San Diego dinner...thanks to all who came.

Every day, we see what happens when they do—and it can be nothing short of life-changing. Here's to engaging conversations, igniting change, and connecting!

Groggy? Brain-foggy? 🥱 Maybe it's daylight savings. Maybe it's perimenopause. Hormonal changes that can start as early as a woman's 30s often make it hard to fall and stay asleep. They can also make sleep less restorative and adjusting to changes in sleep harder. If a virtual cup of ☕ will do the trick in your case, this one's on us. If there never seems to be a mug big enough, you know where to find us. 💙
