We provide basic police services throughout the unincorporated area of Miami-Dade County, Miami Lakes, Palmetto Bay and Cutler Bay. Our decentralized police patrol in eight districts. Our specialized patrol teams include the airport, seaport, marine, motorcycle, bomb disposal and SWAT. Our crime investigators work with other law enforcement agencies, from local cities to the Department of Homeland Security. We discussed the ongoing work being done at the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, crime trends impacting our community, and the many resources, initiatives, and partnerships in place to help keep Miami-Dade County safe. Recognizing outstanding service and unwavering dedication to public safety. 👏 Congratulations to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Homeland Security Bureau Threat Management Unit (TMU) on being selected as the Agency’s Unit of the Month for April 2026. Through proactive investigations, threat assessments, and coordinated intervention efforts, TMU continues to play a critical role in identifying and mitigating potential acts of targeted violence. During February 2026 alone, the unit handled 95 cases, successfully obtained numerous Risk Protection Orders, and lawfully removed firearms and ammunition from high-risk situations to help protect our community. The professionalism, vigilance, and commitment demonstrated by TMU have helped foster safer schools, workplaces, and neighborhoods throughout Miami-Dade County and beyond. Their work exemplifies the highest standards of service and reflects the mission of #YourMDSO. #MDSOproud ——— Reconociendo un servicio sobresaliente y una dedicación inquebrantable a la seguridad pública. 👏 Felicitaciones a la Unidad de Manejo de Amenazas (Threat Management Unit - TMU) de la Oficina de Seguridad Nacional (Homeland Security Bureau) de la Oficina del Alguacil de Miami-Dade por haber sido seleccionada como la Unidad del Mes de la Agencia correspondiente a abril de 2026.
