  • We hear it all the time: “I know what good design looks like … I just don’t know how to do it in Rise.” That’s exactly why we created Art School—a self-paced, hands-on online course for ambitious Rise creators who are ready to break out of the cookie-cutter mold and design courses that truly stand out. With Art School, you’ll learn how to: ✔ Use visual design principles to polish your courses ✔ Set and execute a strong creative direction ✔ Apply advanced techniques to level up your course design With 20+ video lessons, 30+ guided practice exercises, and a final design challenge directly in Rise, you’ll leave with the confidence and skills to create Rise courses that look as good as they teach. Recent Art School grads are calling the experience “transformational” and saying they’re “150% more confident” in their design abilities. 🎨 Ready to transform your design skills in Rise? After multiple sold-out cohorts, Art School is now open year-round. • We're bringing MC Challenges back, and this round is a good one! Your mission: design a cohesive icon set for a new employee onboarding experience. Eight icons, one unified visual system, and total creative freedom on the style and tools you use — Figma, Illustrator, Canva, hand-drawn and scanned, whatever you're working with. The catch (the fun kind) is that it all has to feel like it came from one designer, on one day, with one vision. Consistency, clarity, and a little creative personality are what the judges will be looking for. Pick 8 from these 12 concepts: ID Badge · Handshake · Calendar · Org Chart · Laptop · Team/People · Handbook · Benefits · Building/Office · Keycard · Paycheck · Coffee/First Day Vibe Submissions are open now through Friday, April 10th at 11:59pm EST. One winner takes home a $50 Visa gift card and a free one-year Mighty subscription. And even if you don't win, you walk away with a fresh portfolio piece and your work featured in a growing community gallery. We'll also be hosting a live 30-minute After Party on April 15th to celebrate top submissions and dig into the winning entry together 🏆 MC Challenges are one of our favorite things we do — a low-pressure, high-fun way to stretch your skills and build work you're proud of. If you've been meaning to join Maestro Community, this is a great excuse. 👉 Link in the comments to join Maestro Community for free and head to MC Challenges to get started. #LDCreators #InstructionalDesign #ElearningDesign #LearningDesign #learninganddevelopment #visualdesign #elearning

  • Every week, the MC Code Catalog gets a little more interesting 💡 Members have been contributing builds, sharing snippets, and dropping ideas that other Rise creators can explore, duplicate, and make their own. It's become one of those resources that's genuinely hard to describe until you're in it — part library, part inspiration board, part proof of what's possible when a community of builders gets together. Whether you're deep into vibe coding or just starting to experiment with CSS and JS in Rise, there's something in there for you — and Mighty makes it that much easier to put it to work. The Code Catalog lives inside Maestro Community, which is free to join. If you've been curious, now's a good time to come see what everyone's been building. • Check out our latest Project Spotlight Live! Link is in the comments 👇

Brendan Genther is joining us for our very first Project Spotlight Live with a client!! A Project Spotlight Live (PSL) is essentially a live case study review where you get a behind the scenes look at a project Maestro completed with one of our lovely partners. We dive into the challenge, how we solved it, and what bumps we encountered along the way. This month our senior learning strategist Kathleen is breaking it all down with our client, Brendan Genther from BWH Hotels, who was on the project from start to finish. It's going to be such a rich live session, I'm pumped!! Remember, it's free to join Maestro Community and this event is free to all of our community members. Snag that link in the comments to join us on Thursday, March 19th at 2pm EST (or to watch the recording later).

  • Compliance training is easy to roll out. Getting people to actually change how they work? That's the harder problem. When BWH Hotels launched their Because We Care Clean initiative, the goal wasn't just to train housekeeping teams across 500+ properties — it was to build a shared culture of standards that would actually hold up in the real world. The blended learning ecosystem we built together went on to win a 2025 Brandon Hall Excellence in Action Award, and this week we're opening up the whole story. Project Spotlight Live is happening Thursday, March 19 at 2pm EST, and this session is co-presented with Brendan Genther, Director of Member Relations, Learning & Development at BWH Hotels. You'll hear both sides of the project — the client perspective and ours — in the same room. We'll get into the blended design strategy, the immersive media and real-world scenarios that made it land, the performance support tools built for the flow of work, and how it all connected to measurable business outcomes. Plus live Q&A. If you're working on anything involving scale, culture change, or blended learning design, this one's worth showing up for. Project Spotlight Live is free and exclusive to Maestro Community members — join MC for free and grab your spot. Missed last month’s Mighty Meetup? We’ve got the replay ready for you. Mighty Meetups are our monthly chance to gather learning creators together and dig into what’s new, what’s coming, and how people are actually using Mighty in their day-to-day builds. We walk through recent releases, spotlight smart work from the community, and wrap with a live demo so you can see everything in action. Here’s what we covered in February: • New Mighty feature releases • Block background colors • Line-height updates • MC resources (Code Catalog, Really Good Rise Courses, MC Challenges) • What’s in the works (BIg things are coming to the Block library!) • Community Spotlight with Emily Green • Live Q&A • Full product demo Our favorite part is seeing how you’re using Mighty to solve real design headaches: tighter layouts, more consistent typography, fewer formatting rabbit holes—and more time spent building thoughtful learning experiences. If you’ve been curious about what Mighty can actually do beyond a bullet-point feature list, the recording gives you the full walkthrough—plus a sneak peek at what we’re building next. And if you’re not in Maestro Community yet, that’s where all of this lives. The Meetups. The Code Catalog. The challenges. The conversations that push the tool further. Watch the replay, then join MC for free to come hang with us at the next Mighty Meetup on March 24th! • You're a learning professional now, but we're betting you didn't tell your elementary school teachers that you wanted to be an instructional designer when you grew up. And if you're like some of us, maybe you didn't even know what an instructional designer was until you became one... Maestro Senior Instructional Designer, Nicole Corbin, shares her own journey on how she came into her role today. Rewind I'm a senior instructional designer at Maestro now, but before my life as an ID, I was a technical support analyst at a software company. And before that I was an atmospheric scientist. (Is anyone else a collector of semi-random niche skills?) Even if we don't share similar backgrounds, my entry to instructional design might be similar to a lot of yours. Step 1: Do a job really well. Step 2: Get promoted to teach other people how to do a job really well. Can you relate? I'm primarily a self-taught ID who soaked up everything I could from great mentors along the way! A sum of our parts My education and career journey completely shaped my approach to learning design. My past is all about systems: cause and effect, feedback loops, points of failure. Systems-thinking is core to my ID approach — it pushes beyond knowledge-checking toward analysis and synthesis. Break something and ask learners to fix it. Have them trace the point of failure. Ask them to make predictions, then explain their reasoning. That's real, on-the-job work. To me, "training" isn't procedural. It's learning how to respond when the procedure doesn't go as planned. Sometimes not having a formal education brings up impostor syndrome. But a rich, diverse career path gives us unique perspectives on learning and design that you don't find in a textbook or bootcamp. We know the power of experiential learning for our learners — and we can see it in ourselves, too. 💭 So, come on! We want to know! Does your education match your job title? Have you taken any interesting side-quests along the way? How do you bring that to your work as a learning professional? Tell us more about you! #LDCreators #InstructionalDesign #ElearningDesign #ArticulateRise

  • Good news for every designer who has ever lost an afternoon to formatting. Global Styles is now live in Mighty, and it's one of those features that's genuinely going to change how you work. Define your typography and colors once, apply them everywhere, and watch updates ripple across your entire course automatically. We know how much care goes into building a polished, on-brand course — and we also know how quickly that work can multiply when you're managing a large library or handing off a project mid-build. Global Styles takes the consistency piece off your plate so you can spend that time on the stuff that actually requires your brain. Set your styles once. Update in seconds. Build faster, refresh easier, and never audit a font stack block by block again. It's live now and ready to go — link to try it out is in the comments! #LDCreators #InstructionalDesign #ElearningDesign #ArticulateRise
