In a private room buzzing with brainpower and ambition, over 50 of Utah’s top AI builders and leaders gathered for an off-the-record, deep-dive discussion on the state—and future—of artificial intelligence in the Utah.
Jacob Miller, Head of AI at Pattern and Board Member of AI Utah, and I had the honor of guiding the conversation.
We asked just one simple question:
“If you had to work at any AI company other than your own, which would you choose?”
The responses were revealing. The room included a who’s who of Utah’s AI talent—VPs of AI/ML, startup CTOs, and several well-known investors. Everyone leaned in, curious to see which companies would rise to the top of the list.

What this conversation confirmed is something many of us already feel: Utah’s AI ecosystem is exploding. From foundational models to enterprise automation, from AI in retail to breakthroughs in healthcare and biotech—there’s no shortage of exciting momentum right here at home.
