The updated space will serve as a hub to study, gather, chat, meet with advisors and tutors and access campus and community resources. “We feel like our students are unique,” Director of Student Success Kate Bennett said. “They’re today’s learners, not yesterday’s learners. Floyds Knobs native, Andrew Takami, has been awarded the honor of Indiana University Southeast Distinguished Alumnus for his work and career reflecting a commitment to strengthening communities and intentionally connecting the for-profit, non-profit, and public sectors around shared purpose and community-identified needs. Indiana University Kokomo is celebrating high school students' creative work, showcasing 65 high school juniors and seniors in the IU Kokomo Art Gallery’s newest exhibition. 🖼️ The 28th Annual High School Art Exhibition includes artwork in a variety of media ranging from drawing, painting, ceramics, mixed media, photography, and more. “The exhibition provides young artists with the opportunity to display their work in a professional gallery environment, helping them see their ideas and efforts valued by the broader community,” said gallery director, Carrie Baxter. Last month, Indiana University School of Education and Office of School Partnerships gathered for the Advancing Literacy Instruction Symposium, a daylong event focused on strengthening how evidence-based literacy practices translate into classroom instruction.
