We’ve just published a new working paper on Lagos, Nigeria: Predicting Urban Development, Corridor Emergence, and Local Economic Opportunity in Lagos Using Open Geospatial Intelligence. This work is part of a broader effort to build practical local economic intelligence for metros and regions across the African continent that are not as data rich as other places. We aim to support policy makers, investors, planners, lenders and other stakeholders with directional but localized intelligence for capital allocation, infrastructure planning, corridor, neighborhood screening and business strategy. In this paper, based on 3,318 (1 square km) Lagos grid cells, our model highlights the strengthening inner suburban ring — including Surulere, Agege, Mushin, Ifako/Ijaye, and Alimosho — while also pointing to Epe and Ibeju Lekki as major future growth frontiers. Paper attached. Feel free to comment below or email us, if you are interested in the topic. #Lagos #OpenData #Local_Opportunity_Intelligence #Market_Intelligence_for_the_Physical_World #Africa #Hamoye
