Exciting new project in the works! At Fishbeck we've long strived to deliver projects for all. To be trusted by Gabriel and team to deliver Grand Rapids' first fully accessible mixed-use development is an honor. This project is a bold step toward equity and inclusion in the built environment. #InclusiveDesign #DesignForAll #CommunityDriven #Fishbeck #HeightsOnBurton https://lnkd.in/giXC75XP

  • 🌱 Meet Fishbeck's Ecological Team 🌱 For over 30 years, our Ecological group has provided clients with exceptional services across a wide range of projects. From wetland delineations and permitting to landscape assessments, planting plans, and habitat surveys for threatened and endangered species, the team plays a crucial role in identifying potential constraints early in the design process. Their expertise helps guide projects smoothly from concept to completion, ensuring regulatory compliance and environmental stewardship. This dedicated team leverages its diverse in-house capabilities to support clients with technical insight, practical solutions, and a forward-thinking approach to ecological design. Elise Tipp, who her team describes as the catalyst behind the formation of the Ecological group at Fishbeck, brought passion and dedication that laid the foundation for everything the team is today. The lasting impact of Elise's vision shapes our approach to collaboration, innovation, and how we serve our communities.

Last night, we showed our support for Kids' Food Basket by attending the 23rd Annual Feast for Kids at Noto’s. With a gourmet four-course meal crafted by the 2024 Chefs of the Year, live music, and heartfelt giving, the evening was a true celebration of community.💚🍽️ We’re honored to play a small part in supporting this important work and remain committed to helping our neighbors thrive. Thank you to Kids’ Food Basket, for all you do to support children and families in our area!

At the 2025 AEI Conference in Kansas City, our own Molly Denton brought her trademark energy and leadership to the forefront by launching this year’s Bridge the Gap competition. With over 70 students from across the country participating, Bridge the Gap paired individuals of all experience levels, from freshmen to graduate students, into teams the day of the challenge. Designed to foster empathy and collaboration across disciplines, the competition encourages students to step into new roles, embrace uncertainty, and grow as future professionals. According to Molly, “The energy in the room during the competition is contagious and inspiring.” Molly also presented on building meaningful internship programs in the AEC industry, offering insight into how organizations can create impactful learning experiences while supporting future talent. Her takeaways from the conference: 🔁Embracing change is critical to long-term success. Thriving businesses not only adapt but lead through innovation. 💡Engineers have a responsibility to stay current on emerging technologies to deliver the best possible results. 🕰️Early integration of teams, including MEP and suppliers, is essential for cohesive design and smooth construction processes. #Fishbeck #AEI2025 #BridgeTheGap #EngineeringLeadership #WomenInEngineering #MentorshipMatters #FutureOfAEC

🐾 Our team in Cincinnati recently got crafty for a cause! When Cincinnati Animal CARE put out a call for handmade draglines to support their daily dog care efforts, our team stepped up and donated a batch to help out the shelter pups. We’re proud to lend a hand, and a few leashes, to our community partners doing great work for animals in need! 🐶 #VolunteerInAction #SupportLocalShelters #CraftingForACause

  • Congratulations to Fishbeck's first graduating class of Thrive365 NEXT!🎉 Fifty emerging leaders from across our offices took part in this eight-month course, building leadership skills and strengthening connections through our Wow, Grow, and Magnet cohorts. For the first time, participants gathered in Lansing to celebrate their growth and reflect on their experiences. Tom Gray also shared powerful insights on resilience and leadership. We're excited to see how these leaders continue to make an impact across our teams and communities! #Thrive365NEXT #FishbeckLeadership #EmergingLeaders #ProfessionalDevelopment

We are proud to announce that our work on the Feeding America West Michigan headquarters project has been recognized by the Michigan chapter of IIDA with an award in the Engage category of the Michigan Design Awards. This adaptive reuse of a 1970s warehouse into a modern headquarters and distribution center reflects FAWM’s mission by preserving the building’s industrial heritage while creating a space that fosters inclusivity and community engagement. Thank you to IIDA for this recognition of design excellence and the impact thoughtful architecture can have on both people and place!

Proud to share that the M-1 project in Ferndale, completed in partnership with Michigan Department of Transportation, received a 2024 Quality in Construction Award from the National Asphalt Pavement Association. Fishbeck oversaw the project, and Ajax Paving Industries, Inc. delivered great work on the ground. One of the most rewarding aspects of this project was its impact on the community. The new dedicated bike lane makes it easier and safer for people to get around on two wheels, encouraging more biking and fewer car trips. It’s a meaningful step toward a more connected, people-friendly corridor that supports all types of transportation. A huge thank you to NAPA for this recognition. It’s an honor to have our work highlighted on a national level!
