My favorite thing about working in staffing is supporting our clients—individuals who want to work but have faced challenges finding employment. There’s nothing better than seeing a client smile when they’ve been placed on an assignment and given the wraparound support they need to succeed. Being able to help them build a career path, earn certifications, and advance to higher-paying opportunities through our Retention Services Department is incredibly rewarding. What motivates me most in my role at First Step is the opportunity to be out in the community, building relationships with organizations and companies that help us provide life-changing resources. One of the highlights of the evening was connecting with Nia Imani Fields, whose partnership has been instrumental in helping First Step take root in Baltimore.
