We are proud to have participated in this ground-breaking program that pushed autonomous off-road driving technology to new heights. A huge thanks and congratulations to the entire DARPA RACER staff, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory for their collaboration, and to all the performer teams who participated over the past 5 years. Through the DARPA RACER program, FieldAI contributed key autonomy advancements – uncertainty-aware perception, planning and control, and traversability analysis. These advancements have unlocked capabilities that support autonomous operation in the most challenging off-road environments, without reliance on GPS or pre-mapped routes, operating on edge. Our autonomous off-road software stack has proven itself over extreme terrain, capable of traversing 30+ kilometers per mission without any human intervention needed. We are excited to be transitioning those capabilities to real world operational use, benefiting customers in a wide variety of domains and industries from material transportation, logistics, mining, construction, manufacturing and beyond. Following extensive testing with U.S. Army and Marine Corps partners, as well as teams from Overland AI and FieldAI Federal, the Robotic Autonomy in Complex Environments with Resiliency (RACER) program is nearing completion. RACER’s impact will extend beyond the program’s conclusion, providing advanced autonomous capabilities that can transform military operations and encourage further private sector investment. RACER technology can be integrated into any vehicle with the necessary sensors, enabling autonomous operation in challenging off-road environments without reliance on GPS or pre-mapped routes, and at mission-relevant speeds.
