For many years, we have been working on one problem that matters deeply to us: vision loss. We focus on treatment solutions for conditions such as amblyopia, or lazy eye, one of the leading causes of vision loss worldwide, affecting more than 120 million people globally. Too often, vision loss is accepted as permanent, when many cases can be prevented or significantly improved if identified early and treated properly. This is something we have seen first hand through our clinical trials. At Eyesight Electronics, our goal has always been to develop a treatment solution that genuinely surpasses existing options in terms of clinical effectiveness, while at the same time being accessible and affordable to as many people as possible. Last week, I was in Japan, and it was a real honour to be one of the IP Hatch winners invited to the Panasonic Demo Day. It was great to see Tatsuo Ogawa, CTO of Panasonic, at the event and to have a valuable discussions with Hiroshi Saijou, Head of Digital Transformation and Shingo Wakashiro IP management CEO. It was also inspiring to meet so many leaders and decision makers from across Panasonic. We were incredibly well hosted throughout. Panasonic is a truly inspirational company and continues to operate at the forefront of innovation and future focused solutions. The Demo Day was followed by a visit to Futrworks, where we explored their flexible business offices and co working spaces, followed by a presentation from Shimizu Ryosuke of the Osaka Chamber of Commerce. We also had a lot of fun visiting the 5G X Lab, supported by SoftBank, and seeing the impressive and groundbreaking 5G technologies being developed there. Thanks Noboru Kami, Nanae Akiyama, and Takayuki Fujiwara!
