How can school leaders move beyond traditional instruction to truly center the needs of every student? In our latest podcast episode, we sit down with two visionary principals from San Diego who are doing exactly that: Andrea Pino Antl from Creative Performing and Media Arts and Jennifer Chien from Casita Center for Technology, Science, and Math. Listen to Andrea and Jennifer as they talk about what it means to shift school culture through dismantling fixed mindsets around math, implementing practical tools that support students who learn differently, and foster a true culture of belonging. While AI-driven learning and hybrid classrooms offer incredible new possibilities, they also pose an immediate risk of further excluding millions of students – particularly those with disabilities. If you missed the live conversation earlier this week, you can now catch the full replay of New America and CAST (Center for Applied Special Technology)’s webinar, Wired for Equity: Bridging the Disability Gap in Classrooms. Our CEO Erin Mote joined an incredible panel of students, educators, and policy experts to discuss scaling accessibility through emerging AI tools. The conversation breaks down how Universal Design for Learning (UDL), federal policy shifts, and intentional curriculum design must work together to meet the needs of all learners from K-12 to higher education. Panelists included: Anna Fedewa, Camila Franco, Christopher Bugaj, Elwin Rivera, Michelle Soriano, Ed.M., CPACC, and Saran Tugsjargal Watch the full recording: https://lnkd.in/eRszc9Yd #EducationEquity #Accessibility #UDL #AIinEducation #K12 #InnovateEDU #NewAmerica #SpecialEducation

This Memorial Day, we honor those who lost their lives while serving and share our deep gratitude for military members and their families. Military-connected students move frequently, often navigating new schools and curricula every few years. This makes it essential for our educational systems to be flexible and supportive, ensuring these students don't face barriers to their learning journey as they transition between districts. We are committed to building the systems these families need to succeed, no matter where their service takes them. Happy Memorial day! #MemorialDay #MilitaryFamilies #InnovateEDU #Community #HonorAndRemember

1 in 8 students experience some level of hearing loss. During Better Hearing & Speech Month, we recognize how accessibility fuels communication and learning. For many students, accessing a lesson depends on clear audio, speech support, or assistive technology. When we build educational tools with these needs in mind, we guarantee that every student can participate and be heard. We are grateful for the educators and specialists working to break down learning barriers. Let’s continue building systems that prioritize clear, accessible learning for all. #DigitalAccessibility #InnovateEDU #EdTech #HearingLoss

Effective AI governance in education requires teams that are genuinely equipped to proactively lead. Our partners at EDSAFE AI Alliance just released a new resource: Policy Essentials: Building the SAFE Infrastructure for AI in Education. This self-paced course equips district and state leadership teams with the frameworks, knowledge, and capacity to govern AI with clarity and purpose. Organizations that complete the curriculum are eligible to apply for a portion of the $250,000 AI Spark Fund, a grant program that connects leadership teams with expert partners to support the implementation of SAFE-aligned policies and practices. If your district or organization wants to build knowledge and capacity around effective AI governance, this should be the starting point.
