Our 2026 Global Data Management Benchmark Report highlights the continued evolution of #DataManagement as a strategic, enterprise-wide capability. Yet our cross-industry study also indicated that AI adoption is outpacing data readiness. The report reveals that over 70% of organizations have appointed a Chief Data Officer, but the function needs to accelerate on the maturity curve to address today’s data challenges, especially to succeed with AI projects. About us
The EDM Association (formerly EDM Council) is a non-profit trade association established to advance data management and advanced analytics as a business priority. This includes defining content standards and best practices for data management, delivered through its highly adopted DCAM and CDMC frameworks. Our membership consists of over 25,000 professionals from more than 350 firms representing industries such as financial services, consumer goods, pharmaceutical/healthcare, telecommunications, the public sector and more, as well as data and cloud vendors, technology companies, consultants, academia and regulators around the world. The EDM Council is the originator of the Data Management Capability Assessment Model (DCAM) – the industry-standard guideline on the practice of data management. The Council is also the developer and steward for the Financial Industry Business Ontology (FIBO) – the standard on meaning about the structure and obligations of financial instruments, pricing, legal entities and financial processes. As a neutral trade association, the EDM Council also advises regulators and market authorities on the data implications of financial regulations.

Exciting news! We are thrilled to announce with Canadian Lenders Association our collaboration to advance trusted data, analytics and standards across the Canadian financial and lending ecosystem. In a very complex yet fast-paced industry, trusted data is absolutely critical to driving better decisions and results, supporting innovation, and meeting compliance demands. We look forward to working with members of both our organizations. Thank you to Gary Schwartz and the #CLA team. Much more to come! #CLA #datamanagement #Canada #collaboration #financialservices
Today at the Canadian Finance Summit, we announce a strategic collaboration between the Canadian Lenders Association and the EDM Association: https://lnkd.in/eg7TXqFy The future of finance will be built on trusted data. Canadian finance companies are operating in a more complex environment: faster credit decisions, rising fraud pressure, evolving climate and sustainability expectations, real estate exposure, regulatory transparency, and the rapid adoption of AI across financial services. The CLA and EDM knows that data cannot be fragmented, inconsistent, or trapped in silos. Together, the CLA and EDM Association will work with the industry on four priority areas: 1. Trusted data for lending and risk 2. Sustainability data and standards harmonization 3. Geospatial data and real estate finance risk 4. Training and capability-building for CLA members This collaboration is about helping lenders move from fragmented data to trusted intelligence, and from isolated risk management to shared industry capability. It also sets the stage for our upcoming RISK Reimagined Summit in New York, where we will convene leaders across Canada and the U.S. to explore how risk is evolving from a defensive control function into a strategic leadership discipline. RISK Reimagined: https://lnkd.in/eYXA9XwM Risk is now a data problem, a governance problem, and a leadership problem. The institutions that succeed will be those that can convert trusted data into timely decisions. Thank you to John Bottega and the EDM Association team for the collaboration. Looking forward to building this together. #CanadianFinanceSummit #CLA #EDMAssociation #RiskManagement #TrustedData #Lending #SustainableFinance #DataGovernance #FinancialServices #RiskReimagined

A MAJOR MILESTONE for the #DataAssetFoundations initiative with the Digital Isle of Man! The legislation has received Royal Assent, and now implementation will advance to establish the world’s first statutory framework enabling governed data assets to be formally recognized within law. EDM Association is proud to partner on this initiative, which will incorporate our #DCAM and #CDMC best practice frameworks to support valuing data as an asset. 🎤 John Bottega, President at EDM Association, said: "The Isle of Man has done something no other jurisdiction has managed: it has moved from concept to enacted law on data asset governance. Organisations globally are searching for exactly this kind of structure. What has been built here is a model the world will follow." Onward and upward! #datamanagement #innovation
A historic moment for the Isle of Man. 👏 The Isle of Man’s landmark Data Asset Foundations legislation has officially received Royal Assent, formally bringing into law the world’s first statutory framework for governed data assets. This is the defining moment the framework moves from concept into implementation, with work already underway on the Data Asset Register, operational infrastructure and the next phase of delivery. The Isle of Man is not just talking about the future data economy, we're building it. 🇮🇲 A huge congratulations to everyone involved across Digital Isle of Man, industry and our wider partners whose hard work, collaboration and belief in the vision have helped bring something genuinely world-first into law. In the fast paced world that is Data & AI Consulting, it's often difficult to step away from my day-to-day responsibilities and invest in my own professional development. I'm pleased to share that over the past few days, I've been able to take a step back and prioritize learning to become a certified DCAM professional. Thank you to the EDM Association for an extremely engaging and content-rich two days of training. The case studies and experience shared by Malcolm Clarke, Amanda Cassidy and Paul Childerhose were invaluable! #data #datagovernance #digital #kpmg
