    Just got back from the Demandbase GO London Summit—and I’m fired up. The next era of GTM is here: Assisted Automation and Insights (powered by AI) The weather was great–so London was spectacular. The Summit was over-subscribed. And the content was top-notch. There were 5 dominant themes echoed across the keynotes, panels, and hallway convos: 1. The era of monolithic platforms that fragment functions and the tech stack is over 2. What were the most powerful and complex capabilities of platforms have to be made easy through agents 3. GTM platforms are becoming insight systems—and need to amplify each other. 4. If Sales doesn’t see value fast in your ABM motion? It dies. 5. Buying Group Engagement is the #1 pipeline driver in 2025. Also at Summit, Demandbase and ForgeX dropped brand-new research: “The AI + ABM Inflection Point.” (link in comments) Here’s a piece of the research that gives insight into what’s next for ABM: Top 5 AI use cases for ABM over the next 6–12 months: 1.     The sales team is often quite incredible at articulating brand problems, because they experience them first-hand when talking to prospects. They don't, however, usually know how to diagnose the root cause, and definitely don't know how to prescribe a solution. That's our job as marketers. Yet, we very often try to solve that sales and marketing alignment issue by giving sales a whole bunch of stuff, from collateral to campaigns, and almost always aimed at the bottom of the funnel. It often ends up more placation than solution, and when it inevitably doesn't solve the root cause, things go back to square one. Show that you understand the root cause, and propose real solutions, and you might just end up with sales being the biggest champion in your brand efforts. Naturally, sales will always want quick fix solutions, because their problems are very present day, but throwing demand gen solutions their way doesn't solve it. It just masks it with activity and good intentions. Real alignment comes when you are aligned in your focus.     Today's Demandbase Go conference in London showcased groundbreaking innovations in AI-powered #AccountBasedMarketing (#ABM), with major tech announcements from Demandbase taking centre stage (as you'd expect!) but alongside the release of new ABM-related data from ForgeX and EMARKETER. Check out my video highlights here, featuring interviews with Gabe Rogol Davis Potter Sumi Shukla Rob Gold and Thomas Allgeyer. I also enjoyed catching up with Shimon Ben Ayoun, Avishai Sharon, Ryan Almond, Rebecca Le Grange, Nicola Ray, Brent Boswell, Fiona Shepherd, Leanne Chescoe, Paul Gibson. At the event, Umberto Milletti from Demandbase unveiled three significant advancements: Agent Base, a framework for #AI-powered workflows that has already transformed campaign management (with 90% of customer campaigns now run by AI agents versus just 10% a year ago); enhanced Buying Groups Technology using AI to identify personas from past deals; and expanded platform openness with a new developer portal for integrations. Davis Potter from ForgeX shared exclusive research showing 91% of ABM practitioners are now using AI, with 19% qualifying as "power users" spending 11+ hours weekly with AI tools. However, only 19% of organizations have an AI roadmap for their ABM programs. Potter characterized companies as "dismissive ships," "reactive ships," or "proactive ships" based on their AI readiness, with those proactively leveraging AI seeing significant benefits. Panel discussions highlighted a critical insight from G2's representative: while sales cycles are lengthening, shortlists are actually getting shorter (from 4-7 vendors to just 2-3), making it imperative to be among the few considered. One panelist emphasized that "buyers are more informed, engaging sales later" due to self-directed research powered by AI. Bill Fisher from eMarketer presented research showing that while B2B ad budgets are growing (nearly 65% of marketers saw increases in 2025), waste remains a significant challenge, with over half of marketers estimating 16-45% of ad spend is wasted on irrelevant accounts. Fisher noted that "There's no longer a direct path to purchase" in the B2B buyer journey. The conference underscored that successful B2B marketing today requires better targeting, first-party data activation, and AI-driven personalization to meet buyers where they are with relevant content. #DemandBaseGo #B2BMarketing #ABM #ArtificialIntelligence
