This year’s American India Foundation Gala marked 20 years of transforming lives in India through education, livelihoods, and health programs. Chicago board member and DDB Global Client Lead, Varsha Kaura, delivered one of the evening’s three keynote addresses, speaking to her personal connection to AIF’s mission and underscoring this year’s theme of Women Empowerment. She shared the story of a beneficiary from Haryana who, after completing AIF-supported tailoring training, increased her family’s income from $100 to $600 a month and now teaches other women in her community. Varsha was joined by colleagues from Team DDB, including EVP & Strategy Lead Kevin Richey and his wife, Aileen, whose presence underscored the organization’s broad support within the DDB network. It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Rupert Williams, a longtime friend and leader of DDB. Those who knew Rupert will remember him as a true character – always focused on getting to brilliant work and having a lot of fun while doing it. Rupert leaves behind a lasting impact and many wonderful memories. It was a privilege to work alongside him over the years at 12 Bishop's Bridge Road.
