The DC Chapter of the National Black MBA Association recently hosted From Budgeting to Building, part of our Pathways to Power professional development series. This signature 3-part monthly series equips professionals with the tools, insights, and connections to level up in every area of life and leadership. The October session focused on financial wellness and featured an engaging and thoughtful panel with Lyndsae' Peele (@thekingdomwealthconnector), Dr. Constance Craig-Mason (@ccraigmason), and facilitator Tia M. Forte-Goodwin. Together, they shared financial strategies, personal experiences, and deeper reflections on the connection between money, mindset, and emotional well-being. Dr. Constance reminded attendees that, "Wealth is not just what you hold, it's what you heal. And it's not about shame, it's about awareness," speaking to the emotional and psychological aspects that often influence our financial behaviors. Lyndsae’ encouraged everyone to view financial health through a holistic lens, sharing that, "Financial wealth begins with YOU. It’s emotional, spiritual, as well as financial. It’s a holistic journey." The conversation reinforced that building wealth is not only about numbers and assets, but also about awareness, self-reflection, and healing. Financial wellness begins with how we see ourselves and extends to how we strengthen our communities.
