Service matters. Community matters. Local radio matters. That's why we're thrilled that 95.5 WSB earned the prestigious 2026 NAB Celebration of Service to America Award, recognizing its legendary Care-A-Thon, which raised $2.3 million for the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta last year. Congrats to CMG Radio and the entire 95.5 WSB team! This is what living our mission looks like.

It makes it easy to wake up and go to work when you know what you do matters. At CMG Radio, serving communities and elevating listeners isn’t just part of the job. It’s our heartbeat. It’s the “why” driving our efforts … it’s the reason local radio matters. And it’s why we’re incredibly proud that three of our stations were recognized with NAB Crystal Radio Awards, honoring just 10 stations across the country for extraordinary community service and overall positive impact. Here’s what that impact looks like: · In Atlanta, WSB Radio helped generate more than $3 million in community impact — including the annual WSB Care-A-Thon, which raised over $2 million for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. · In Jacksonville, Hot 106.5 WHJX-FM and 104.5 WOKV-FM joined forces with other CMG stations to generate more than $600,000 supporting cancer research, military families, child literacy, hunger relief, and community centers. When communities face challenges — or celebrate big moments — CMG Radio is there. Our passion for making a difference is what truly sets CMG apart. #CoxMediaGroup #WeAreCMG #NABCrystalAwards

CMG earned the broadcast version of the Pulitzer tonight when it was honored with the prestigious duPont-Columbia Award for Investigative Reporting. The recognition came for “Social Security’s Secret,” an hour-long news special that provided a behind-the-scenes look at how CMG exposed the real-world impact of Social Security payback demands -- and the investigative report that provided relief to more than 2 million Americans. It's a fascinating story that you can read about here: https://lnkd.in/ekDPatCK

Congratulations to our very own Misti Turnbull for contributing to the summer to remember for CMG. Misti was recently inducted into the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Silver Circle for her impact on local broadcasting, including her focus on innovation and commitment to journalistic excellence. As Misti will tell you, "What really gets me excited is ensuring all CMG newsrooms are consistently providing our viewers high-quality local news and investigative journalism across all platforms.” Misti's honor follows CMG's 7 NAB Marconi Award nominations, 4 national Edward R. Murrow Awards, 2 Crystal Awards, and 1 Gracie Award. That doesn't include the many regional awards, local honors, and the 10 national awards our Investigative Reporting team won over the last year. And later in September, four of our legendary radio personalities – JoJo O’Neal, Elroy Smith, Lorenzo “Ice Tea” Thomas, and Marc Young – will be inducted into the National Black Radio Hall of Fame. Congrats to Misti - and all award winners - for embodying CMG's quest to make a tangible and positive difference for our millions of viewers and listeners - every day! #CoxMediaGroup #WeAreCMG https://lnkd.in/eAzs4wWg

In an industry defined by change – shifting formats, evolving listener habits, digital transformation -- Rob Babin has become a fixed frequency on Radio Ink’s Top 40 Most Powerful People in Radio list. After five consecutive years on the list, this isn’t just a streak … it’s a statement. Since 2021, Rob (president of CMG Radio) and his team have stayed relevant by creating industry-leading content, generating revenue growth for clients, leading impactful community engagements, and fostering a culture of collaboration and strong execution. In the process, they’ve achieved rare consistency and constancy amidst the industry evolution. To be recognized once is an honor … to be named five times is about re-setting the standard for what influence and impact sounds like, behind the mic and beyond.

After doing something for 25 years, it can be hard to better your best. But that's exactly what happened during the 25th annual 95.5 WSB Care-a-Thon. In only 38 hours between July 24-25, the team set a record by raising $2.1M in support of the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Thanks to the generosity of WSB Radio listeners and the Atlanta community, the 95.5 WSB Care-a-Thon has raised more than $36 million since 2001. Donations are welcome year-round and can be made at wsbradio.com/careathon/. Go to CMG.com/News for more information.
