The new Kathleen McCartney Hall brings together Smith College's leadership development and career training programs under one, collaborative roof. Deeply rooted in a shared commitment to sustainability, the all-electric building's heating and cooling systems are powered by geothermal wells, drastically reducing emissions and supporting the college's ambitious decarbonization goals. Featuring a mass timber superstructure installed by Consigli's self-perform team, as well as a traditional brick façade, curved glass and exterior fins, the new space equips students with a comfortable environment that fosters learning and curiosity. On Williams College’s Davis Center, the team achieved one of the industry’s most rigorous certifications – the LBC Materials Petal – and delivered a new hub for connection rooted in the college’s vision for a greener campus and future.
