Pelican Broadband is excited to announce that we've received official notice to proceed with construction for GUMBO 2.0, Louisiana’s implementation of the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program awarded by the Louisiana Office of Broadband. Between 2026-2028, this funding will allow us to expand reliable, high-speed fiber optic internet to 1,300 unserved homes and businesses in Coushatta, Provencal, and Hagewood. Louisiana is home to the first BEAD-funded tower in the country! Nextlink Internet recently activated the tower, bringing up to gigabit-speed internet to 104 locations across Bossier Parish via fixed wireless infrastructure.
