City of Tampa reposted this
Had the opportunity to say hello to Mayor Jane Castor at the Tampa Bay Chamber "Face the Chamber" breakfast this morning and thank her for our ongoing partnership with the City of Tampa. This summer, 3 of our 3DE Schools graduates from Chamberlain High School, the Mayor's alma mater, will begin internships with the City of Tampa after completing a year-long Senior Consultancy project with Brenda McKenzie and her team. This partnership embodies our mission of harnessing the engagement of our industry partners to not only prepare a future-ready workforce, but directly place local, home-grown talent into in-demand jobs and careers that sustain Tampa Bay's economy. Thank you Mayor Jane Castor and the incredible Neighborhood & Community Affairs Department for nurturing our students as they go on to lead choice-filled lives and better our community! #cityoftampa #mayor #workforcedevelopment

Housing affordability is not only about new construction — it also includes preserving existing homes so residents, like Mr. Mallard, can age in place with dignity and safety. Thanks to our Housing Rehabilitation and Renovation Program, East Tampa resident Mr. Carlton Mallard received $147,000 for home renovations like a new AC unit, a new roof, hurricane-impact windows, and much more. Now, he is safely able to stay in the home he grew up in. Keep an eye on tampa.gov/housing in mid-June when applications open again soon.
