Julia Cao, a CarMax customer advisor, grew up the daughter of Vietnamese immigrants in Lancaster, PA — a place where her family's culture and her hometown couldn't have felt more different. Her parents modeled quiet, tireless community service: her father served as a Vietnamese interpreter, helping neighbors find jobs and study for citizenship tests, and her mother ran a nonprofit focused on food insecurity. Today, Julia carries this same spirit to her community. She co‑founded Lancaster Asian American and Pacific Islanders (LAAPI) to celebrate and connect Asian‑identifying communities in her region, and she also helps connect CarMax associates to causes that reflect their own passions. Julia shared a Vietnamese proverb that feels especially fitting: “One tree makes no hill. One of the best parts of our culture is getting to cheer each other on, at work and beyond. 💙 💛 Meet Boris Iniguez, a sales associate at our SE Orlando store, who recently summited Cotopaxi, an active volcano in Ecuador, reaching 5,897 meters above sea level after a six-hour climb. It’s an incredible personal achievement, and a reminder that big goals are built on focus, discipline, and determination. Congratulations, Boris, and thank you for sharing your adventure with us! 🌋

We're proud to continue recognizing associate milestones through the Iconic Associate Experience Program, a CarMax initiative that celebrates moments that matter in unique ways. This quarter's honoree is Percy Villacarlos, a Navy veteran and Floor Sales Consultant, who reached a major milestone - 3,000 vehicles sold - while also training to run a half-marathon this May. 🚙 With 15 years at CarMax, Percy’s dedication and team‑first mindset make a lasting impact on customers and teammates alike. His team, store leaders, and family recently surprised him with a celebration recognizing both achievements. The surprise included a running‑themed gift box to support his training and race‑day signs created in his honor. Congratulations, Percy, on these achievements, and on the dedication it takes to reach milestones like this! 🎉

Last night was thrilling as CarMax associate Jim Madison threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the inaugural game at CarMax Park. Jim is one of CarMax's founding associates and sold the very first car in our company's history, making this a true full-circle moment.   CarMax Park is more than our hometown ballpark. It is a place for our community to come together for unforgettable experiences, and we're proud to help bring it to life for current and future generations of Richmonders. Women's History Month: Associate Spotlight For nearly 12 years, Amber Luster has built a career at CarMax as a skilled automotive technician and a role model. Each day she walks into the shop, she is helping shape a space where women belong. Amber’s daughters, Sophia (9) and Joslyn (5), have grown up watching her lead with confidence in a predominantly male industry. “They know that engines, tools, and problem-solving do not belong to one gender,” she shares. “When they talk about their futures, there is no hesitation about what they can and can't do, and that means everything to me.” Amber reflects this year’s Women’s History Month theme, "Leading the Change," by showing future generations what is possible.
