Several years ago, Pete noticed the mole on the top of his head had started to change and become darker. At first, it was thought to be nothing serious. But in early 2025, Pete Heseltine was diagnosed with melanoma. What followed was a whirlwind of scans and appointments. Through it all, Pete focused on keeping life as normal as possible, sticking to his routine and spending time with friends. Opening up to the people around him gave him the support he needed. Now he’s sharing his story so others recognise the signs and know they’re not alone. Because speaking up about your health can change everything. #LetsTalkHealth

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows outside the womb, often causing inflammation and pain during the menstrual cycle. Symptoms can vary, and because of this, symptoms are sometimes mistaken for ‘just bad periods’, which can delay diagnosis. We’re helping to raise awareness of women’s health and improve understanding of conditions like endometriosis with the help of Dr Sharmistha Guha. Visit the Bupa website for more information about endometriosis and its symptoms. https://lnkd.in/erUEjcbq #WomensHealth #Endometriosis

As members of the Sustainable Markets Initiative, we’re committed to reimagining healthcare by prioritising prevention and helping people stay well for longer. Together with our partners, we co-launched the Camden Breathing Better Charter in 2025 – a two-year pilot testing a place-based approach to improving health in a changing climate. Over the past year, 26 organisations have united behind a Charter of 12 commitments to improve air quality and respiratory health. This week, we’re proud to launch our Year 1 Progress Report – highlighting our progress, shared learnings, and priorities for the year ahead. Modelling by London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, U. of London shows the disease cases that could be prevented and healthcare costs saved – reinforcing our belief that real impact is within reach. No single organisation can tackle air quality alone, but together we can make a meaningful difference for our communities. Read the full report: https://lnkd.in/ef5pySWm

ADHD symptoms in women can look different to those in men. Men are 2-3 times more likely to be diagnosed with ADHD than women (according to the The American Journal of Psychiatry), but researchers increasingly attribute this gap, in part, to underdiagnosis rather than prevalence. In girls and women, ADHD symptoms are often mistaken for anxiety or low mood. Championing women’s health beyond International Women’s Day, Mental Health clinician Mariola Pilas-Kołodziej is helping to raise awareness of the gender health gap to improve outcomes. Can healthcare truly be personalised? In this month’s Big Question, we speak to Melvin Samsom, Chief Medical Officer at Bupa Group, about how personalised healthcare could shape the future of medicine. From health-tracking data to AI-powered insights, new tools are helping clinicians understand each patient more fully. When care reflects someone’s biology, medical history and everyday life, it can become more precise, more predictive and more preventive. A reminder that the future of healthcare may not be one-size-fits-all, but built around the individual.

This International Women's Day, we’re taking action to promote better health outcomes by increasing understanding of the gender health gap. We caught up with some of our clinicians to discuss the topic. Over the next few weeks, we'll be sharing their thoughts and insights starting with Raghda Mosleh and the importance of understanding male vs female heart attack symptoms. Visit our website for more information on heart attack symptoms - https://lnkd.in/dgMzZSPD #InternationalWomensDay #WomensHealth
