When do you use a Data Lake because an RDBMS can't get it done? The need for very low latency (How long after you push the button does it take to finish?) or you are recording long/lat a lot (High Volume), or you have data entry happening across different regions (East US, India, Europe), or you have massive data (Petabytes). In these cases a NoSQL Data Lake is what you need. Hadoop was the first, MongoDB was also a Lake I used personally and was pleased with the results, but in Microsoft/Azure Cosmos DB is a data lake you can choose. Fabric is also another very large data store I won't cover here. This session talks about the interaction of Ai and a Data Lake. More specifically, RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) which means giving the Ai the correct information before they speak. No Guessing! Use case is before speaking to a customer lookup open orders, trouble tickets and history so you have context. Instead of greeting someone with hello, if they have open orders say... "Hello Erin, I see we have two packages scheduled for delivery for you. Can I recommend some products that complement these orders, text you tracking numbers for your shipments or how can I be of assistance today?" Customers will NOT complain about speaking to an Ai if it greets them like this. They will actually find the Customer Service refreshing. For the finance people, Lakes in the cloud are far more affordable than when we had to provision hardware to handle loads. Also Cosmos automagically gives you worldwide coverage in the base package. There is a database offering in Azure that lets us use both PostGres and Cosmos together giving you the speed of pulling relational data using joins with referential integrity, and the massive storage and low latency of Lakes. If you can, starting with an Nth Tier scalable data lake like Azure Cosmos DB can future proof your solution for geographic and load expansion. Today you have 100 testers, tomorrow at 9 am you have 50k users. For these reasons I recommend attending this Microsoft Build Session below: #msbuild #Azure #AzureCosmosDB #RAG

[🇺🇸 EN] PyTexas 2026!🐍✨ It’s been a little over a month, but I’m still buzzing from having the opportunity to attend the 20th anniversary of PyTexas. What an incredible experience! As a graduating student and a Data intern using Python, I traveled to Austin looking to immerse myself in the global tech community and catch up on the latest industry trends. From April 17th to 19th, I had the chance to dive into truly enriching content. I got to connect with industry giants like Microsoft, which brought an amazing hands-on workshop on building FastAPI apps with Azure Cosmos DB, and Anaconda, presenting valuable insights on data visualization. These three days triggered a major shift in my perspective, not just technically, but regarding the people. Seeing industry veterans with years of experience sitting side-by-side with students from all over the world made me realize something very special: we are all in this together, constantly trying to help each other grow and evolve. I want to leave a special shoutout to the PyTexas Foundation team and all the event organizers. There is so much hard work behind the scenes that we don't see, and the welcoming, collaborative environment you created was unbelievable. Also, Austin is such a beautiful city filled with the nicest people! I returned home with a fresh perspective and a lot of inspiration to apply to my daily work with data at Procuradoria-Geral da Fazenda Nacional. 🚀 #PyTexas2026 #PyTexas #Python #DataScience #StudentDev #WomenInTech #TechCommunity #DataEngineering #AustinTech
