U.S. Army Pathway for Innovation and Technology

About us

The Army Pathway for Innovation and Technology accelerates Army modernization through dual-use innovation, strategic partnerships, and mission-driven outcomes. As a critical enabler of Army acquisition reform, PIT injects capability faster by getting in the dirt with the Soldier, performing prototyping at the edge and delivering operational impact at the speed of relevance. The PIT is a critical part of the Army’s Acquisition Reform where we created the 6+1 construct with new Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE). The PIT serves as the +1 chartered to rapidly transform technology into Warfighting capability. The PIT serves as a critical hub that integrates the efforts of three essential organizations within the Army innovation enterprise. Army FUZE, the Joint Innovation Outpost (JIOP), and the Global Tactical Edge Acquisition Directorate (G-TEAD) serve as the operational backbone of the PIT, underpinned by a unified vision to see, share, synchronize, and scale. • US Army acquisition is evolving — and the Army PIT enterprise is already building the future to meet new demands. The United States Department of War's push to modernize acquisition highlights a critical shift: faster decisions, empowered leaders, and a focus on mission outcomes. not process for process’s sake. Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE)s are being positioned to make real‑time tradeoffs, cut approval chain timelines, and deliver capabilities at the speed the warfighter needs. Army PIT was built to be a critical enabler of that exactly that acquisition reform mindset. The PIT injects capability faster by getting in the dirt with Soldiers, prototyping at the edge, and delivering operational impact at the speed of relevance. PIT exists to close the gap between innovation and impact, ensuring emerging technologies don’t sit on the shelf but get into Soldiers’ hands faster. By supporting the Army’s 6 PAE + 1 structure, where PIT serves as the “plus one,” the enterprise strengthens unity of effort and accelerates lethality across the force. As the acquisition community moves toward unity of command and unity of effort, PIT ensures the Army can translate innovation into operational advantage — not years from now, but when Soldiers need it. Modernization demands speed, courage, and collaboration. PIT is where that transformation is already happening. 🔗: https://lnkd.in/ewR9X2Cq #PowerOfThePIT #ArmyInnovation #AcquisitionReform #DefenseInnovation #Modernization #USArmy
