About us
Aquaai is a water intelligence company on a mission to make environmental data more accessible, affordable, and actionable. Designed for the challenges of the 21st century, our system reduces the cost and complexity of collecting critical water data—empowering industries and governments to better manage water risk, sustainability, and resilience. Aquaai serves a wide range of blue economy stakeholders, including aquaculture, coastal developers, ports, smart cities, disaster response (e.g., flooding), reinsurers, marine protected areas (MPAs), ocean research and conservation, and freshwater management in rivers, lakes, reservoirs and dams. Hitting 9 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), Aquaai’s end-to-end solution is built on a 3-part system: Machine Learning / AI platform for insights Cloud-based dashboard Bio-inspired fishlike autonomous underwater vehicles (fAUVs) that carry a payload of cameras and sensors. Our fishlike autonomous underwater vehicles collect real-time visual and environmental data—such as water quality, temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, salinity, turbidity, and depth—and deliver insights directly to customers via a user-friendly online interface. This full-stack system, delivered through our FaaS® (Fish-as-a-Service) model, provides a scalable solution for water and food security, ecosystem protection, infrastructure management and climate resilience.

Really? This is exactly what happens when there’s no real investment in innovation — no real focus — and too many people keep talking or posting about the future instead of actually investing in one. As a U.S. hardware founder, I’m outraged. The U.S. didn’t fall behind because of a lack of leadership nor talent; it fell behind because too few were willing to take the long-haul, realistic investment risk. It’s easy to fund AI apps, but at the end of the day, an AI app is meaningless without the hardware to support it. There’s a lesson here, and it applies to every nation: talking about “the future” without tangible investment and a genuine understanding of how critical hardware and robotics are to that future, whether it’s a dog, a fish, or a human, is a guaranteed destabilizer, especially in our new normal. For investors: instead of saying, “it’s not my responsibility what I invest in,” maybe it’s time to realize that every check you write is shaping the future. That comes with a heavy responsibility, the same kind of commitment, belief, and effort that founders pour into building it. Because whether you like it or not, your investment choices don’t just fund startups, they define what kind of future we all end up living in.Aquaai Corporation https://lnkd.in/eKgwET3T

I’d say you’re absolutely right to be worried. Most of them have read the same global risk reports I’ve been reading for years, they’ve known what was coming for decades. The sad truth is, this has been out in the open for at least two or three decades, and we collectively chose to ignore it. Instead of investing in technologies that could truly save or improve lives for everyone, we turned the climate crisis into a marketplace, driven by greed, wrapped in jokes, policies, and endless conferences that did little more than buy time. Sad but true, we’ve only got ourselves to blame for the world we’ve created. Just look around: extreme weather is becoming the norm, water crises are spreading, pollution is suffocating ecosystems, and vector-borne diseases are on the rise. This is the new era we built, not by accident, but by choice, through decades of neglect and misplaced priorities. But hey, don’t worry, we’ve got AI clones and shiny products to keep us distracted while the real problems keep growing. Tech billionaires seem to be doom prepping. Should we be worried? https://lnkd.in/eqdrxY7b

Aquaai CEO Liané Thompson 🤖🐟💙 is in NY for Climate Week!
CEO Aquaai - 20 Women Driving the Future of ClimateTech, Innovative Women in AI / Blockchain (Forbes), 50 Most Powerful Women in Technology - EIC Women Leadership - ETH 2015 - No, I do NOT want to join your accelerator.
New York Climate Week 2025 kicks off today! I'm happy to see many more water focused events taking place than previous NYCWs. Water is a life source, which is why for 11 years now, we at Aquaai Corporation focus on providing data insights from below the surface to protect habitats, infrastructure and waterbodies, marine and freshwater. I'm looking forward to seeing friends and meeting new people delivering action. While not a water panel, I am joining the Innovate for Impact panel to discuss how small enterprises turn sustainability into profitability, resilience, and influence taking place Monday. Come say hi. 😄 https://lnkd.in/drGYbfGs

Dare I say it...This is what you get when investors say....... why should I be resposible in what I invest in. As a underwater techie I have to hand it to the Chinese private investment focus, way less talking and way more in deep understanding in the new frontier and it aint AI alone. They not only nailed it, there investment focused is without a doubt a very well played chess game, very well placed and very well focused. Our new era is one that is defined by tech companies going the distance and investors who take the risk for the long road ahead. And if you think it isnt you are only fooling yourself into a rude awakening. https://lnkd.in/e5bb4Nhi
