Today, Representative Zach Nunn introduced the HOME for Foster Youth Act, bipartisan legislation that will streamline access to housing assistance for youth transitioning out of foster care and help prevent homelessness before it starts. “Every young person deserves more than survival; they deserve dignity, stability, and the opportunity to thrive and pursue their passions to build a meaningful future,” said Dr. Amy L., CEO, All4Ed. “For foster youth, housing is not separate from education or career success; it is foundational to both. The HOME for Foster Youth Act is an important step in ensuring young people have stable housing, because that stability creates the foundation students need to pursue pathways to college, careers, and long-term well-being.” 🔗 Read the full press release here: https://bit.ly/4vhqSgP
About us
All4Ed is a Washington, DC-based national advocacy organization committed to expanding equitable educational opportunities for students of color, students from low-income families, and other marginalized groups. We advance transformation from the classroom to Congress by advocating for federal, state, and local policies and practices that ensure all students graduate high school prepared for postsecondary education and success in a rapidly changing world. By collaborating with government officials, we advance federal, state, and local policies that give educators the support, incentives, and political will necessary to reimagine and restructure their schools. At the same time, we work alongside district and school leaders in our Future Ready Schools® Network (futureready.org/ #FutureReady) to equip them with the tools and resources they need to think differently about student learning and implement practices to improve student outcomes. Through this dual approach, we build collective momentum at the local, state, and federal levels to expand equitable educational opportunities and dismantle discriminatory structures that have deprived too many students of the high-quality education they deserve. #K12policy #education #edTech #schoolleadership #districtleadership

“Every young person deserves a pathway to a life they have chosen for themselves.” As National Foster Care Month concludes, All4Ed CEO Amy Loyd reflects on why this work is personal to her — and why supporting students in foster care requires more than policy alone. Too many young people face repeated school moves, disrupted relationships, and barriers to opportunity. Our schools and systems must be ready to help every student connect, belong, and thrive. 🎥 Watch Amy’s message and learn how we can build better pathways for young people together.

As #AANHPIHeritageMonth comes to a close, we’re reminded that bringing AANHPI histories, voices, and experiences into classrooms year-round matters for belonging, representation, and student engagement. 📚 Students thrive when they see themselves reflected in what they learn. And with more than 50 distinct ethnic groups represented across AANHPI communities — each with unique languages, cultures, and histories — there is still important work ahead. Many AANHPI communities continue to face challenges, including: • A shortage of certified bilingual educators in AANHPI languages • Limited dual-language programs beyond Spanish and English • Under-resourced newcomer and multilingual learner support programs We remain committed to listening, learning, and elevating stories that help advance inclusive policies and practices — ensuring AANHPI communities across the country are recognized, supported, and equipped with opportunities to thrive.

This Youth in Foster Care Awareness Month, we should ask an important question: Are our systems designed simply to manage foster youth, or to help them thrive? True dignity means more than access to services. It means stable housing, responsive health care, supportive adults, educational continuity, and the freedom to imagine a future full of opportunity. Jazmin Flores Peña's latest blog explores why dignity must be a guiding principle in both education and federal foster youth policy. Read the blog: https://lnkd.in/gdxCC2RP

The latest from Axios shows how AI’s education explosion is leaving teachers in the dark. "It's not a question of whether or not our students are going to be using it; it's a question of how well our educators are supported and receive the ongoing professional learning and capacity building to be able to be confident in it." - All4Ed CEO Amy L.. "Already strained educators are under pressure to increasingly integrate AI into their classrooms," adding that they "don't necessarily have the policy, the support systems for capacity building, or institutional guidance in their schools to do so holistically. It's more kind of racing to plug it in in ways that may not be ultimately improving outcomes." 🔗 Read the full article here: https://bit.ly/4wTTH4O Learn more from the new Gallup data, which highlights the broader pressures educators are facing, including financial strain and burnout: https://bit.ly/4wV63tn
