We are grateful to have been a part of the 2026 MCIU Learns STEELS Expo! 🔬 It was a truly inspiring day spent alongside dedicated Pennsylvania educators exploring the STEELS standards and what meaningful implementation looks like in the classroom. Thank you to everyone who visited our booth and to those who attended OpenSciEd K-12: Addressing Key Challenges with Ron Antinori and Scott Oste. The engagement and thoughtful conversation throughout the day made it a memorable experience. #STEELS #OpenSciEd #ScienceEducation #K12Science

"The first thing I noticed was the smiles on students' faces." That's how an assistant principal in Massachusetts described the moment his school switched to Activate Learning's Active Physics program. Not test scores. Not proficiency rates. Smiles. 😊 Kids who were excited to come to science class. Students asking "What if we did this?" Kids up on their feet, running investigations, making connections — instead of sitting at desks copying notes. That energy is real. And it shows up in the results, too. When students love what they're doing, they learn more. Remember more. Do more. What would it mean for your school if students couldn't wait to get to science class? 👇 #StudentEngagement #ScienceClass #ActivateLearning #HandsOnLearning #STEMEducation #ProjectBasedLearning #MiddleSchoolScience

Let's have an honest conversation about professional development. Most educators have sat through trainings that felt completely disconnected from what they actually need inside the classroom. Generic. One-size-fits-all. And gone the moment the workshop ends. Activate Learning takes a different approach — every professional learning experience is curated specifically to the needs of the district. Not a canned presentation. A personalized program. We want to know where educators are starting from. What would make PD actually worth your time? #ProfessionalLearning #TeacherPD #ScienceEducation #ActivateLearning #EdLeadership #TeacherSupport

You can have the best curriculum in the world. If the classroom culture isn't right, none of it lands. Student sensemaking requires students to feel safe enough to share half-formed ideas. To disagree with a classmate. To say "I don't know yet — but here's what I think." That doesn't happen automatically. It has to be built. OpenSciEd's free webinar Establishing Norms and Classroom Culture gets into exactly how to create the conditions where investigation-centered learning actually thrives — not just for the students who already love science, but for every kid who walks through the door. This is the foundation. Everything else builds on top of it. The hardest part of OpenSciEd? Letting go. Ms. Keonia Davis, 6th grade science teacher at R.E. Davis, said the biggest shift was stepping out of the role of information-giver and trusting students to figure things out through investigation. "That was a big change for me. Letting students explore and connect ideas on their own — and trusting that process." But here's what started happening in her classroom: ✅ Students started talking like scientists — without being told to ✅ They referenced prior investigations and built ideas across units ✅ They took science home and kept experimenting on their own That's what student-driven learning looks like. And it's possible in your classroom too. Watch: https://lnkd.in/eCVDQ9Ke #OpenSciEd #ScienceEducation #ActivateLearning #InstructionalChange #3DLearning #TeacherSupport

Every district has a moment where the old way of doing things stops working. For the SUMTER SCHOOL DISTRICT that moment was a reckoning with science outcomes that weren't reflecting what their students were capable of. They needed a curriculum aligned to rigorous standards and a professional learning model that would actually move the needle for teachers. That's where Activate Learning came in.
