First, for real critical completion deadlines, you should set an A and B plan for having supplies and labor delivered on time during your Also, identify in the contract that there is a percentage add-on for on-time completions and a deduction for delays that affect the completion schedule. When this is in writing and discussed, they will do all they can to follow through with their on-time obligation in their part of the contract. But part B will be a back up contractor if first cannot fullfill his obligation .
