Let me be contrarian, but: More often than not, "quality" is NOT about "consistency." It's about PRIORITIZATION and SMART ALLOCATION. Some projects require excellence, others just need "good enough" → How do you define? Notice who pays for "transformation" vs who pays for "validation." The “excellence everywhere” myth is: 1) Corporate talk/fantasy. 2) Surest way to burnout. 3) Guarantees MEDIOCRITY across the board. Instead, PRIORITIZE: → Let some fires burn. → Disappoint if needed (when stakes/commitment are low). → Be transparent about your capacity limits instead of playing the hero. REAL QUALITY comes from strategic "neglect" (within the limits of "good enough") NOT from unsustainable consistency.

This is something I think about often, especially when every project seems to require a different version of me. What helps is having a clear baseline for what 'quality' looks like in my work, no matter the task. I also check in with myself regularly: Am I rushing? Am I still aligned with the bigger goal? That self-awareness keeps me from just going through the motions.
