I have recently created this project http://drupal.org/project/apachesolr_comments and created a branch 7.x-1.x. I am not getting the option to create a release from that branch.

This queue has definitely been neglected a bit :(

There have been some issues with creating release nodes in the recent past, but these should have cleared by now.
