Hi, Have you considered supporting multiple target types? For example, we use boxes_entities. It would be nice to have a single queue that manages both nodes and boxes. This would allow editors to create all kinds of flavors or re-arranging and content placement of various entity types.
Thanks for the work you have done.

jojonaloha commentedI like this idea as well. I think since Entityreference module is a dependency we either need #2066865: Multiple Target entity type feature for Entity reference field or not use Entityreference fields for the queue items.

amateescu commentedI did consider this option, but, unfortunately, it's very hard to accomplish in Drupal 7 if we want to keep the dependency on Entity reference (and we really do!).
It will be much easier in Drupal 8 though, so marking as postponed for now.

jojonaloha commentedSince this was brought up in #2232917: Drupal 8 Version of Entityqueue I thought I would update this issue and add a link to https://www.drupal.org/project/dynamic_entity_reference
Looks like there is a D7 version of that module too, so perhaps a backport at some point might be possible.

amateescu commentedSince no one else requested this feature in the past few years, I guess it's not really needed for now..

pixiekatCame across this from a search, due to needing this feature in a project. Is this something that could be reconsidered for D9?
