The engagement ladder

Choose how deep you need to go.

Most clients start with a Health Check — it tells you which of the next three you actually need. No guessing, no oversized retainer before you’re ready.

How to choose

Start with the question, not the product.

Not sure?

The Health Check tells you which engagement you actually need. Two weeks, one answer.

Start with a Health Check →

No marketing function yet?

You need a full team that ships — strategy, demand, content, ops — under one roof.

The Pod →

Team can execute, no senior strategist?

Your people can do the work — they need a CMO-level strategist in the room weekly.

Advisory CMO →

Need to lock in a path to scale fast?

You need a full department with VP-level accountability and board reporting.

Embedded Growth Team →

Frequently asked questions

An embedded fractional CMO works inside your company rather than advising from outside it. Same systems, same CRM, same standups as your team. At The Artesian Network that leader arrives with a senior bench already attached: demand, content, marketing operations and enablement. The function is operational in week one, not after a hiring cycle.

When you need CMO-level judgment before you can support a permanent CMO organization. That is typically Seed through Series B: the founder is still closing most deals, the ICP keeps widening, and pipeline is hard to repeat. A full-time CMO at that stage arrives without a team to lead and without a proven model to scale.

Six to twenty-four months. The engagement runs until you have a proven, repeatable revenue model, usually around Series B, then transitions to a full-time in-house team focused on optimization. If a fractional engagement has no end state written into it, you are buying a permanent retainer rather than a growth engine.

You keep the machine. Positioning and messaging, pipeline architecture, the martech stack and dashboards, documented process, and a hiring plan for the in-house team that takes over. The Artesian Network helps plan and recruit that team, then hands off. The goal from day one is to build ourselves out of a job.

Anyone who already has a VP of Marketing running a full team. Advisory support may still help, but a fractional function would duplicate what you have. Also skip it if you have under twelve months of runway, or if you have no product-market-fit signal yet. Marketing cannot manufacture demand for something the market has not validated.

The Artesian Network publishes its pricing. A GTM Health Check is $12,000 fixed for ten business days. The Advisory CMO is $14,000 a month. The Pod, a full marketing function, starts at $20,000 a month. The Embedded Growth Team, with VP-level accountability, starts at $30,000 a month. Most clients start with a Health Check.

A two-week diagnostic of your go-to-market. Ten systems scored against comparable B2B companies, six internal stakeholder interviews, five customer interviews across won, lost and churned accounts, funnel math and unit economics. You get a scored diagnostic, a ninety-day fix list with owners, and a six-month roadmap. $12,000, ten business days.
