I upgraded to the iPhone 17 Pro Max 512GB from my iPhone 13 Pro Max, and the difference has been excellent.

The first thing I noticed was the speed. Everything feels much faster and smoother, from opening apps to switching between tasks, browsing, using the camera, and general day-to-day use. It feels like a proper upgrade rather than just a small improvement.

The 6.9-inch display is superb. It is large, clear, bright, and ideal for watching videos, reading, browsing, and using apps. Despite the bigger screen, the phone still feels premium and well balanced in the hand.

The 512GB storage is also a big advantage, especially if you take a lot of photos, videos, download apps, or want plenty of space without constantly worrying about deleting things.

Build quality is exactly what you would expect from a Pro Max iPhone. It feels solid, looks excellent, and has that premium Apple finish. The camera quality, screen clarity, speed, and overall performance are all a noticeable step up from my previous model.

It is not cheap, but if you are upgrading from an older iPhone, especially something like the 13 Pro Max, the improvement is very easy to appreciate. For me, it has been a brilliant upgrade and I am very happy with it.

Purchased this on the understanding that it will last easily 5-8 years, I wouldn't be able to justify the cost otherwise. But boy, this is one nice (but heavy!) phone. If you want the best, this is it. The colour is understated (I got the blue one & I prefer understated) but in a case anyway so won't ever really be seen. I wouldn't ever want something this expensive and slippery without a good case on it. Display is, of course, top-notch. Speaking of notches, I guess not everyone will like the "notch" at the top of the screen, it takes a bit of getting used to but Apple have made decent use of it anyway. Cameras x4 all good quality of course with 4x optical zoom on the main lens. Everything feels super-fast in use as well, very snappy.

Is this value for money? Probably not if you plan on replacing it in a couple of years. Almost certainly if you keep it for the 8 years Apple are likely to fully support it for. This thing is a beast and should last the distance with ease (I had a work iPhone 11 Pro Max that has lasted 8 years and still has decent retail value and works absolutely fine).

The front camera having Center Stage is a small touch but a useful one—video calls feel more natural since I don’t have to hold the phone at a perfect angle. The Deep Blue colour is also better in person than in the pictures. It’s subtle but still stands out.

I’ve upgraded from the iPhone 15 Pro Max (256GB) to the 17 Pro Max (2TB), and I’m really impressed with how much better it feels overall.

I can get through a full day and a half of normal use without worrying, which wasn’t always the case on the 15 Pro Max (probably due to age too). It also charges quicker and doesn’t seem to get as warm when using heavy apps or the camera for long periods.

The new camera button is a great addition. It feels natural to use and makes taking photos or videos much faster, especially when you just want to capture something quickly. The camera quality itself is noticeably better, particularly in low light and zoom. Photos look sharper and more balanced, and the colours feel more true-to-life.

Performance-wise, it’s snappier across the board. Apps open instantly, multitasking feels smoother, and the whole system feels more responsive. The display looks brighter and clearer, especially outside, and the slightly slimmer design gives it a really nice feel in the hand.

Having 2TB of storage has also been great peace of mind. I can record 4K video, store big photo libraries, and keep media offline without running out of space.

Overall, the 17 Pro Max feels like a solid upgrade in every area that matters. If you’re coming from the 15 Pro Max, it’s not just a minor refresh — it’s a noticeably better phone that feels more refined, more powerful, and much easier to live with day to day.
